Noisy Dogs

I have heard on my trips to DV a number of dogs barking all day ..they seem to left alone on the balcony all day..in Block 7...does anybody know which apartment this is coming from?

Yes.  We constantly hear the dogs when we are in Duquesa.  We have written to the occpants of the relevant apartment and to AEA, but to date we have had no response. We believe it is unfair to keep a number of dogs in a small apartment and inconsiderate to other visitors/residents.

Has anyone else heard the noise?

update...i believe these lose dogs are in block 8 stairwell 25...not sure of the apartment

Dogs are in block 8 stair 25 ground floor,i think it is unfair for other residents to disturb day and night the peace of the site,i think we have report it to the aea.

DEAR OWNER 8 25 01.Please let us make duquesa village an oasis of peace,many of us work hard every day and as soon as we can get a few days of holydays we travel to DV, it is horrible when you only can hear dogs barkling day and night, you are living in a community not in the middle of the mountains so you have to respect other owners, 4 dogs in a small apartment is very complicated.Several neighbourgs are talking together about this and probably very soon facts will be reported to the police,there is a law in Spain that permits demand a cityzen by public scandal .So please again help us to keep Dv a wonderfull and a quiet place to enjoy.thanks a lot.

John Cox and I were at the management yesterday and we discussed this problem.

I don't know if owner 8,25,01 will see this but we agree that a denuncia has to be done by those affected, and with 5 denuncias the dogs will be taken away.

Somebody needs to let the owner know what action is being taken, I will try to contact them and ask that other please do the same.

Are we absolutely sure the problem comes from 8,25,01?

Estoy absolutamente seguro del numero de aparamento 8 25 01,he ido a su apartamento para quejarme y no abre la puerta,he oido los perros ladrar cuando me acerqué para llamar a la puerta,en seguridad a la entrada saben quien es por quejas de otros vecinos,ahora no estoy en DV,gracias por la ayuda.

Reference the noisy dog issue.  Yes I can confirm that the owners of the noisy dogs live at number 8.25.01.  My husband and I have an apartment in 8.23 and on more than several occasions last September when we were there, the incessant noise of dogs barking was unbearable.  They had clearly been left by themselves all day and evening.  It is perhaps with hindsight a good thing that the owners weren't there to answer the door when I called one night, as I was so incensed by the noise that I could have either punched the owners or shot the dogs.  Thankfully the good old British reserve held strong, and I resisted the temptation to do either.   :-)   But now that someone has mentioned it, PLEASE PLEASE can something be done about this problem.  I thought it might be a one off situation, but it would seem it is ongoing.....  It's peace and tranquility that is synonymous with the ambience of the Village not the noise of yappy dogs echoing across the mountainside.

We are on Coto Real just accross from Duquesa Village andwe can hear them, they really get on your nerves.

Maureen, if that's the case, maybe you can also write to AEA?  If they are still about in the summer when we are there, we will for sure be complaining!  It's not right that those dogs are kept in a small apartment like that - and especially left on the terrace for hours on their own!   Those owners shouldn't be allowed dogs!!

How do we go about actually "denouncing" them?

Don't know how to denounce them but I'm sure someone on this site will tell us, I'll see what they are like in April, we also have some wild dogs down the bottom of our bank and our security have told us not to walk down or back up in the dark as they are attacking people.

The dogs you hear in Coto real could also be the dogs that live near DV in the small fincas, they normally live outside and are kept as guard dogs and you often hear these 'campo perro' field dogs at night all over the place. 

The dogs we hear are all day and night, not just a night time.

Dogs in Dv are in 8 25 01,I talked to Aea and they told that the only way to solve this problem is denounce it at the Manilva Police Station (policia municipal), phone 952-890945.(24 hrs)

If 5 of us denounce it dosg are outside Dv.I will be there in april and if this proble continues i will go to the police.

AEA staff have warn owner already but nothing.

That's only a few stairs away from my place.

Not all users of the nearby apartments will read your post on EoS.  I suggest putting leaflets under all of the doors of those nearby apartments that will be affected by this situation.  If the leaflet explains how to complain and provides the phone number then we might expect a speedy resolution.

Not sure when I will be there next, but if I do encounter this situation I will certain let the owner of the dogs know directly of any adverse impact they are having on my stay  and also about the likely consequences.  The dog owner may choose to move out before the police arrive to take the dogs away?

Assuming that apartment is rented I would also like to meet with the owner and give them some feedback.  But perhaps they were financially desparate - why else would they rent to someone with three dogs?  Unless of course they don't know about the three dogs.  Now there's a thought !

It's not fair  when you and I spend many thousands on a luxuary apartment and then have to suffer an intense dog racket from  a nearby apartment. DV  is potentially a very tranquil setting.

I havent been on EOS for a while but the Dog issue seems to be getting worse. Its a pity that we cant ban all dogs from the community, as they are a pain and cause noise and frequent messing up of the communal areas. My son also has a fear bordering on a phobia of dogs, so if one comes near him i will be looking to drop-kick it as far as i can! 

To compound matters we are in bloody Block 8.

I am over at the end of May for a week with my family and if i hear dog noise i will be in the owners face very quickly. We need to stamp on this and get 5 denouncia so they can be disposed of.

I bought on this development because i thought it was going to be a quiet, non-intrusive get away from all hassle.

Apparently not.

Its unfortunate but you cannot under Horizontal Law ban dogs from a community and certainly not after it has been established.

However you can I believe establish rules:-

1. The cleaning up of any mess by the owners

2. Control of noise, etc.

There are some laws in Andalucia relating to certain breeds that require the owner to have  a license, insurance, and dogs on leads of a max of 2 meters and muzzling of dogs over 20 kgs. These apply in public places, as our roads are deamed as public we may be able to enforce these rules as well.

I have been trying to research this.
