Meeting 16th May

Just had notification sent about a meeting on 16th May at Auditorio de Alhama at 9.30am.

Looks like it's time for us to vote in the presidents.

It includes a copy of the old budget and the new proposed budget.  Also it looks like the proposed community fees are cheaper than we expected.  The proposed fees for our 2 bedroom on jardin 5 is now €71.

Will anybody on jardin 5 be attending the meeting?

just recieved the same email, we will wait to see what the general consensus is, as there seems to be some sort of voting cards, although the prices have come down i would still like to see them lower, pushing my luck i dont know? i wish it were a week later as we are there after the 21st, so again going to miss this one,

is anyone standing for N7 AND N8,  they seem to be pairing them up? i think it needs a full time resident(wish it were me) anyway best of luck to who stands and who is voted in,

Hi Ant and And, still haven't managed to find anyone in our Jardin who is resident.  Naranjos 7 & 8 are only together for the mini community along with some of the penthouses, but we still have to have a rep for our own Jardin.

Hi Simon, who is Steven Turner?  Do you know how he got your email address and why he would send this to  you?  I know I'm too cautious sometimes, but I think we need to be a bit careful about the information we are posting on an open forum

RPM have indeed sent out a calling notice, to some but not all owners, for the AGM on May 16th.

The agenda is to vote in the level 1,2 and 3 presidents, ratify RPM as administrators and agree the budget.

As has been mentioned below there is a revised budget which has been created due mainly to the very hard work of the Spanish residents that form the asociacion condado de alhama group who have forced through the budget reductions and even a reduction on RPM's administration fee.   I'll post an english translation as soon as I have one.

Hola Dawn and Mike- you have been so busy,  We've just been opening wine.!

But the figures you have provided are improved from the first set and we've had the email. However we have just had time to scan it so need to go back and read it throughly.

One of the difficulties is finding someone to represent a Jardine when we dont reside there- so voting someone in for a Jardines will be a difficulty unless we can garner references from residents. Unless someone campaigns for votes on EOS we're unlikley to know if anyone is putting themselves forward on our Jardine.

Have to get the hire car but if we can get directions we hope to be there.

cant guarantee this as it took Ham 1 hour to get the car last time as the company he used was the cheapest , so everyone was at the same place at the same time.

I`m hoping David ( dringman ) will get back to me as I presume he will know where  the venue is

Ham does have Sat  nav but the stupid woman continually tried to get us to drive through fields  on ourl ast visit..

With respect to the voting slip contained as part of the email are we still able to authorise a keyholder/any resident to represent our votes or should we be looking at someone in our individual Jardines?

Anyone can be nominated by you, the suggestion is that each garden should have a representative who can express the garden point of view, I understand one garden has done this, Probably one english speaking and one spanish speaking president and vice president could work best. If proxy given to garden president it sounds more organised,but everyone has their own choice. Its just felt easier to co ordinate opinions garden by garden

You can give your proxy vote to anyone.  The main problem is who to vote for as garden president, as far as I know there are no residents in my garden ( Naranjos 1 ) and I have no contact details of the other owners .

I could always vote for myself I guess? But a spanish resident would be better.

We are in Jardin 5 but do not know of anyone who  is resedent  there. We have very nice Spanish neibours but cannot remember their names. Both speak english though the young lady is  more fluent.

Do not know if either will put them selves forward.

That's the problem, unless we have contact with the other owners how can we organise.  I'll be asking PW/RPM for the other owners contact details, want to bet if I'll get them?

If we had had a longer time slot, maybe we could have asked around the last time we were  over

unfortunatly we do not arrive until 9.30am  that day & its just a coincident that we will be there

 How can a two bed in Jardin 12 be more than a 2 bed in Jardin 5 if the ground floors are the same.........I am in jardin 7 so properly shafted either way....I do not know why all Jardin charges are not the same (all 2 beds one charge and all 3 beds another) as this would reduce the amount of collection admin required and confusion........it seems to me that we all benefit from the site but some are paying more........normally you would expect a bigger jardin to have lower charges due to economies of scale but this is the reverse.....I welcome reductions but fairness should be applied too

As non residents we dont know of anyone in our Jardines to represent us, and even if someone put themselves forward we wont know them properly and what their motivation is for doing the job. Potentially this is an issue but not one we can do anything about. Even if someone did a bit of campaigning by the time we found out it would likely be too late. So our very good keyholder comes out fave for our proxy vote at this time. Obviously this is a problem as she's based in another Jardines, though still in the right 'zone' but there's little we can do as ptan/phil says we need more info.

Re not being the same price I am understand  its a legal issue laid down by Spanish Law and in our deeds. It would not be possible to change without legal process and therefore expensive. The question has been raised before and will comeback again. However prioity is to get election held and officials appointed without getting into details at this time. The previous meeting brokedown because of details that need to be addressed again .
