Hi Richard

For your information, the Portillo office is in the centre of Palomares & there is a lady working on the reception now who speaks fairly good English.

Another approach is to budget for the "missing bills". For the 5.75KW setting, the monthly charges amount to approx €12.21 so that means that if the bill were taken in full today, there would be standing charges of €48.84 covering July - October.

You will then need to look at your previous occupancy against previous bills to get an average usage & each unit is charged at 0.11248 plus 16% IVA.

Obviously, it won't be 100% accurate but it should come pretty close & at least the funds will be available to meet the direct debit when it comes!

Noreen

Hi Noreen, thanks for the info on the electricity company if we haven`t received the bill before we come over at christmas then we may pay a visit to them to try and get to the bottom of the problem. Thanks for the suggestion of bugeting for the bill but my worry isn`t about the amount just the fact that it has been so long since receiving a bill and i am one of those people who likes everything in order and up to date, I should have learnt by now after buying in spain and learning how slow everything moves over there then i shouldn`t be surprised at how long the bills are taking but as long as i know i`m not the only one waiting and that there is no possability of us losing electricity supply, as this was another of my concerns, then i will just have to wait

                   regards

                  Richard

Hi Richard & Jackie

I also received a bill in November & I am unable to access the pdf file on my internet banking, so I haven't been able to check this out for myself but I understand that the recent payments relate to electricity usage for July & August only, so there is obviously more to come!

Hi Everyone,

I also had a bill charged in November and then further charges on 31/12/09 and 31/1/10.  It is difficult to check these as I no longer receive a detailed bill showing usage etc. from Hcenergia as I did with Portillo however, I have noticed that without any usage the Portillo charge was approx. 15 euro/mth and it appears the Hcenergia charge is more than double that.  I am assuming that my charge on 31/1/10 is for the month of January as I had a charge on 31/12/09.

Any comments appreciated.

Best Regards,

Gerrys

Hi Gerry's

I think you will find that the bills you have received are for 2 months each.

We received a bill on 1st July which covered to the end of June. Then we had no more bills until November, December & January. Each of these covered 2 months for CHC Energia to catch up the missing payments.

I have calculated the monthly standing charge to be approx €15 which is about the same as the Portillo bills.

I had thought that we would now go back to monthly bills again but I didn't get the expected bill at the end of February so it looks like they have reverted to every 2 months as it was with Portillo up to the end of 2008.

If you need a copy of your bills with a full breakdown of usage, the last email address I had was for Maria de la Torre mlatorre@portillosa.com but it is possible that she may no longer be working for them. Worth a try though.

Hope that helps

Regards

Noreen

Yes the office is in Palomares.

I haven't had any bills sent to me, only the copies that Maria emailed to me when I requested them.

Can anyone advise on the situation regarding the electricity bills.

It has just come to my attention that the last debit from my bank account for my electricity bill was in July last year. There has been no debits since. I was over in October and there was no letters reagrding the matter.

I am not over until the end of May and I am concerned that there is an outstanding bill which has not been paid.

I note that previously the debit was to "Distribuciones Electricas Portillo" and this was regularly debitted from my account.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

Please read the other posts on this strand and in particular Noreen's information regarding the electricity charges.  I think everyone was in the same position although our new supplier HC Energia charged to my account on 31/12/09 and then again on 1/2/10 - it seems these are for 2 months each and there is a catch up from July when Portillo last issued a bill.  I would point out that these were bank debits and not the actual bills which I have still not received.

Hope this helps.

Gerrys

Thanks Gerry

In view that they have not debitted my bank then I presume that they have not got around to dealing with my apartment. I will attend to the matter when I am over in May.

Tricia

Thanks for update on electricity bill. Was this automatically debitted from your bank account. I am not over to the end of May so I could have a bill sitting in my post box.

Thanks

Mark

Yes Mark, the amount on the bill was debited from our bank account. The bill was dated Feb and was debited in Feb, so check with your bank.

Hello All

We are concerned about our electricity bill. We set up a direct debit and money goes out of our bank each month, but no-one has been in the apartment since January (no electricity used). Is there a standing charge which we pay even if no one is there? The amounts each month vary - is that because of different numbers of days in each month??
