Lift Key for Penthouses

I am a Penthouse owner and friends who also have a Penthouse have suffered the same problem which is the relativley new lifts breaking down with people inside, the worst case scenario was on a Sunday in heat of 37 degrees when we had to wait 90 minutes for a engineer to turn-out.  I wondered if anyone might agree that I apply for a special triangular lift key be made available at security stations so atleast if they continue to be unreliable help is only minutes away??   Your views or any better ideas????

As a penthouse owner I think it would be a good idea if security were able to help us out quicky. I can't think of anything worse than being stuck in thos small lifts. Fortunately it hasn't happened to me YET. I do try and use the stairs as much as possible (we are on the top floor) but I appreciate the elderly and infirm and people carrying heavy bags are unable to do this. I must admit I think I would start to panic if I had been in your position morgan7567.

Hi Morgan,

Sound like a good common sense idea to me.  Unfortunately like most things today people can't do anything without wanting paid for it, otherwise known as (Jobsworth).  They would probably want trained, so they can say they are multiskilled therefore require more money, which means our community fees then increase which split amongst us all wouldn't be much, but for health and safety(another example of overkill) they probably wouldn't be aloud.
