I agree with Billbo. Polaris advertise CDA will be one of the most attractive courses in spain. I dont think there can be any comparisons to the likes of La Carla, La Managa, Valderamma etc for a long time yet.
I played desert courses in Dubai (Emirates especially) and these are in fantasic surroundings even though they have a worst climate than Murcia. Desert courses can be made to look fantastic and there's no reason CDA cant be without a bit of effort.
It will be intresting to see what the greens fees are when it opens as i cant imagine many Brits paying 75 euros plus with the current exchange rate for a course that is very unfinished.

Exactly my sentiments Phil. We can't use the climate & terrain as an excuse for where the completion of CDA stands right now. Like you say, dam sight hotter & dryer places than this have been made to look quite exceptional. Anyone who pays a premium green fee to visit Condado in the near future will probably not come back for a good while. What will that do for the economics of running the golf course ?
We have not got to loose sight here that we bought into a development concept, not just an apartment in a block. For each & every one of us who own a property, Polaris has 100,000 to 200,000 euro's plus, put their way. Do the sums.....that is one hell of a lot of dosh.
Regards,

While out at CDA in Sept one of the green keepers told me PW would not be charging as much here as the other PW courses, he seemed to think it would be around 40 euro's for one maybe two years then it would be more expensive than the other courses possibly 30 or 40% dearer.
I guess there must be some substance to it. I'm sure he didnt just guess....... this must have been discussed at sometime by the PW staff.
We will have to wait a little longer and then we will know for sure.
See you all on the course soon. Tim

I guess 40 euros or so would seem reasonable at the moment. I just wonder if PW are going to stick to their opening date of mid November as the gossip goes on this website.
If they are then surely someone in the marketing department would be shouting from the roof tops that the course is opening soon and get the punters lined up. There are plenty of people on this website that are planning a visit just after the course opens but will be a bit of let down if they get there and its still closed.
After all PW have spent over £50m on building this course so you would think they would want to get as many greens fees in as possible as soon as it opens. PW dont seem to have officially announced the opening date have they (unless i missed it!)??

Hi
We were going to come out on opening week but decided against it due to previous false dawns.
Also think it strange that there has been no publicity regarding the opening date of 16 November (Which year).
Got cheap flights on the Easyjet sale for 16 December so hopefully it will be open then.
Great big cynical old Hector

I've been wondering about this 'opening day' too.
Since reading that Jack is elsewhere on the 16th and given that PW are only just starting the pro shop and not even where I thought they were doing it. I see that its going to be near The Clover which might mean they expect golfers to use The Clover for an after game drink and bit to eat, maybe they dont see the worth in setting up another bar. I'm still hoping we are going to get a club house bar/coffee shop too but I now wouldnt be surprised to be told that the space opposite the supermarket is going to be for council offices or RPM.
I did have a walk around the course as said earlier on the thread and do agree with Billbo in that the area's around the edges of the course seem to be rather more rough than I expected them to be with an opening not far away. I'm not trying to be controversial here, its just my point of view and I fully see that the course is meant to reflect the local flora and fauna and is still in development. But some spaces look more like a dumping ground than I thought they would. However, the course has cracking potential so I wait with baited breath for our next instalment.

When we were over in Sept/Oct the word was that the course is opening on 9 November for pros and then 16 November for punters and that Jack will be over in January to do the 'official' opening. But then you hear so many stories.......
