I thought i would start this thread for anyone wanting a natter but about nothing in particular. So i thought i would start of by asking Shiela and Alan is there lots of snakes in Spain that just roam around looking for toes to bite.? Im terrified of them. I couldnt harm one i think i would just hook it and fling it and hope it doesnt land on some poor unsuspecting sunbather.      I would just run but i dont think the kids would keep up.

Also my daughter would like to know if you have seen any banana boats yet at any of the beaches..... hey now theres a job worth thinking about. She wants a go on one! Tina

Hi Tina,

My husband was looking at a site about spiders............dosen't like the things...............but what he did find out was that there are 13 different type of snake in Spain of which 5 are poisonous there are also 117 types of spider including the black widow and funnel web.........................................................oh!! and scorpions.............don't worry to much as I think all we will see are gheckos or lizards in our garden...............................the kids will love them.

Bye for now

Hi Rosita, actually i wish id never asked that question now. My daughter said dont be scared of spiders just call them Mr skinny legs and you will be ok!

Donna.... i dont suppose you are the one setting up a running club are you? I was told by our rep that a marathon runner from Manchester was moving to the site and setting one up.

Oh Tina

How I almost fell off my chair laughing.............with busters the size of mine I'd have black eyes and probably bruised knees!

No its not me but I might be tempted to join if I get a 'shock absorber bra'

hello - yes we are hoping to take our cat with us when we re-locate to Spain- hopefully around March 08 ???

All i know is that she will have to be 'chipped' and vaccinated at least 6 months before hand in order to get her 'passport'

How will she cope with the heat - we will have to wait and see - but I can't bear the though of leaving her behind !!

It still seems such a long time in the future - roll on 2008

Hi Juner

Do you plan on bringing your cat back to the UK at all? If not you dont have to do the 6 month blood test which will save quite a bit of money, you will just have to do the microchip and rabies vaccinations. We have 2  cats. We were not sure if we were going to bring them at first because they are such pansies (Marmi is scared of his own shadow) and we didnt know how they would cope with the flights but like you i cant leave them behind. Originally we were going to leave them with a family member untill we got sorted but they are all chipped, vaccinated and ready to go so we may take them straight away now if we can.

Instead of the flights we might take them over on the ferry, they have little kennals on them and you can visit (i think) which might be less stresful for them. All I know is they are costing us a fortune so I hope they like Spain and dont worry im sure they will be fine in the heat!!!

Tina

Hi Tina

Thanks for that advice - didn't think of the ferry option - mind you haven't really thought about what we are going to take with us and how we're going to get it there !

By the way I'm June and husband is Kim. We have brought a quad villa in Block 5 number 49. Hoping to move out around March 08 and rent until quad is ready. really looking forward to giving up work and being a lady of leisure!

june

Hi

It is a good book but i was really lucky i found it in a sale and only paid £1... how jammy is that! The only thing is no mention of San Cayetno which is a shame.

Its called     - A brits scrapbook Going Native in Murcia by Debbie and Marcus Jenkins.  On the back of the book is an email address www.leanmarketingpress.com .or www.bookshaker.com i expect you could find it there!

Adios

Hi Iain

I bought the book ages ago on Amazon - can't remember how much it was, but I know it was much cheaper than list price & it came within 2 days.

It wasn't as cheap as yours though Tina!!!!!!!!

Hi Sue

What did you think of the book? I couldnt believe my luck when i found it for £1. do you have any others on Murcia you can reccommend? The only thing in it that I thought was dissapointing was the section on spanish schools. It wasnt very complimentary when actually ive read other places that the spanish eduucation system has dramatically improved. Tina x

Hi Tina

I've searched high & low for books on Murcia, but this was the only one I could find - perhaps we should go into business writing one concentrating on the mar menor area - what do you think?

I have bought some of the Spanish monthly mags when they have features on Murcia & Costa Calida. Some of the travel guide books on the Costa Blanca have sections on Costa Calida/ Murcia.Might be worth borrowing some from the library & photo copying the pages (am I allowed to say that???!!!)

Will let you know if I find any others

Sue
