Hi Marian & Ron,

The Taray website is www.taray.es. Hopefully this gives you the information you're looking for.

Hi Kevin

Thanks for that but this is the web site that I have been trying.  Have tried again but no joy both through Google and Ask.com.  All I can get up is a page of writing which doesn't even mean an awful lot (I did ask for it to be translated may that it the problem).  I will keep trying and you never know I may just have some luck if not I will just have to wait until I arrive in March.

Thanks again.

Marian

Hi KathyL

Try

http://taray.es/dev/?lang=eng&page=inicio&

This should take you to the Taray website in English.  Click on the 'All the developments' bit in the bottom left-hand corner and that should give you the option to choose which development you want to look at.

It does take forever to load on my ancient laptop, but it gets there eventually.  If you still get the page of text, perhaps you need to download some software, eg Java, as there is a lot of animation on the first page.

Hi Marian,

That's weird...I can see the Taray webpages in both English & Spanish, and toggle between the two. Maybe it's a problem with your browser. I'm using Internet Explorer version 7.0, if that helps.

Dear Diane & Joe

Thanks for your help.  Yes it looks as though I must need some additional software because not only do I just get a page of writing but it is absolutely huge and will not scroll down in fact it won't move anywhere.  I will keep on trying but suppose I will just have to be patient and wait for two weeks until I can see the real thing!!!!  Can't wait.

Marian

tarray uses Java so you need to download it (it's free) from Sun Systems

 http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

This will allow you to view the graphics and change pages

How is your Spanish coming along?

Hi Tina

Well done with the Triathlon and learning Spanish.  If you can say more than you can understand, I guess it's the speed at which people speak that is the problem - ask them to slow down!  Shame you can't slow the TV down though!

I'm treating myself to a San Cayetano mini-break next week.  The hunt for furniture begins.  Any recommendations would be welcome.

Hi Diane,

We completed in April and did the round of probably every furniture outlet in the area!!  We got a lot of our basics on a trip to Ikea, then stumbled across Muebles L'Creme who supplied us with a leather suite on the same day we ordered it - an absolute boon if you are foot-weary (and so close to home).  On our last visit, we returned to buy a sofa bed, again delivered same day.
Daniel is the man in the shop and he also delivers, we found him to be extremely helpful (and he knows exactly where San Cayetano is).

The shop is on the main drag into San Javier from San Cayetano, on the left, right next to the static caravan site.  Official address - Avda. de Balsicas (Junto al Camping), 30730 San Javier.
There are lots of outlets in this area, but we liked the personal service provided here.

Hi Bev,

The site is called La Encina (address as previous post).  If you look at www.campings.com, their details are on that site.  Although if you search for caravan sites in Murcia or San Javier, there are lots more.  Hope this helps

Jan

So how many families are living on the development now?

I suppose most people just use their villas for holidays, do they?

I am wondering what it is with the spanish and why they need to stamp everything 50,000 times. It can be any kind of stamp , blue stamps, green stamps even Ninja turtle stamps, who cares as long as everthing has at least 3 stamps. You need a 2nd stamp to tell you the 1st stamp is real, then a 3rd stamp to confirm the 2nd for the 1st is official, all need to be stamped from completely different people, from completely different planets and definately the stamps must be completely different shapes and colours.

Im scared to stand still incase some old spanish guy runs at me with his stamping pad and stamps my backside.

NAME              Butthead

ADDRESS     Loser road, mind your own dam business.

AGE                 Im old enough to be yr gran

The above document would be perfectly acceptable as long as it has at least 3 stamps, stamped by 3 different people, from 3 different planets!! It is quite possible that one of the important persons who must stamp yr piece of paper should have green skin with at least 5 eyes. When your told you must visit Uranus before having that important piece of paper you have already waited months for its usually done so with a smug grin. The sort of smug grin that you could plough your fist into.

GIVE ME FLIPPIN STRENGTH!!!!

Love you really Spain!

Just a bit. I have visited the same flippin office in Murcia 4 times now and each time i go back the goal post changes. This stamp, that stamp, this, that, those, them. trying to prove who you are here is not done with a passport, NIE or identity card. You actually need the brutal video of your mother giving birth to you.

All of this just to hand in a coupon for a free box of rice crispies. Its criminal.

Soon we will start the gruelling process of having qualifications transferred from the UK to Spain. Im just going to buy a Star treck stamping pad and stamp everything and hope for the best!

When we first arrived in Spain, i asked for my passport to be stamped to mark the start of our new life. The answer?............. A big fat NO! Thinking back i just cant believe that. I would have thought it would have been a pleasure to stamp every page!

Donna, forgot to tell you that I have a job interview tomorrow in a bank. I know I will get the job because I can stamp paper faster then superman. Im going to rise to the highest position with my excellent stamping skills, left and right handed then I shall implement a policy where I close all the tills at the busiest times. My smug smile is perfected for when everyone especially the english start screaming at me.

spain is such a wonderful country but its red tape is tortures!

p.s excuse my whinging but you know what they say, if you are stressed communicate to all and sundry, then soon they will be stressed too and yr not the only one!!!.............. just kidding!
