From what i have been told, palmera have sold quite a few apartments in block 5 from their madrid office to buyers from madrid as holiday homes, i think that is why we dont hear much about block 5 from buyer on this site.

Really? Thats interesting!! some spanish neighbours so! Palmera told me initally that quite a few were sold to British and Irish buyers but I would take that with a pinch of salt.

i'm hoping to sign for my apartment in Block 5 on June 1st. I've been told it will be habitable although I was there at the end of March and there was quite alot of work remaining to be done. I will try upload some pictures. There are only about 3 posters on this site from Block 5 as far as I can tell. If anyone has any more info on block 5 I too would appreciate it.

Especially f you are not using an independant laywer I would be constantly ringing Palmera and Placious Mar for updates. They should have sent out the 'completion pack' ( bad photocopies of info sheets) so the next call you get off them is to say you are to turn up at the notary on a given day (if you have not signed over power of attorney). This notice may not be much. It might be best to go on the offensive on this one and tell them now a date in the furture that will suit you. Remember the in-house lawyer is going to look after their interests before yours.

Guardamar and Santa pola is a popular destination for Madrid 'ers like most Spanish they are good family people.

I think that it is a good sign that there is spanish intrest in the development.

Well the village of Formentera is a old type of spanish working village with a few spanish bars and one or two restaurants,   there is a sports centre with 3 outdoor swimming pools, which are open in the summer months and is free of charge to residence of formentera, which includes you, there is also a poolside bar,  A short  10 min walk east will take you into rojales there you you will find a lot more bars and places to eat and one road with quite a number of nightclubs, with free entry, which get busy at the weekend, I have been in a couple of the clubs with my son,   we were impressed with how friendly the local young people were towards us ,even though i must have been one of the oldest in there i had a really good time, there is also a couple of english pubs and a irish pub in rojales but to tell you the truth i prefer the spanish bars at night , there are also a couple of clubs in guardamar which seem to be popular . I don't think you will be disapointed with the area but you will need to explore to find.

Is there a gym in the sports centre that you mentioned? Or do you know of some in the area?

There could be a gym  at the centre but i think it is more football and tennis, I have been told there is a very good gym in rojales, i will find out where it is and let you know.
