Does this mean that by offering us alternative accomadation it reduces our chances of getting our money back should we take them to court. I for one would not like to buy anything from else from HUMA after the way we have been treated. They do not honour their side of the contracts.

Well, at first glance, my thoughts were that they are not interested any longer in ACC. Whether this is because they know any plans will eventually be downsized or what - I wouldn't like to say. Looking again at the letter it is pretty much double speak.
I would have to say, I am suspicious, and have been for some time, that they don't have enough money to complete all of the sites they are involved with - without a major successful sell off of off plan properties of course. So they seem to be trying to divert money to the other sites, which would at least release some money for them to continue to build elsewhere, or to return money. BUT, do they really have the legal go ahead for Tabernas? Will they be able to sell enough properties to make either site viable??? All unanswerable and unknowable. Common sense would say that over the next few years they will be unable to sell thousands of properties, and I am still not convinced the Junta will allow development outside of their own corridors - remember they want a massive development between Los Gallardos and Garrucha and are pushing this heavily.
It continues to be a gamble - but you are right Alfie, the fourth option of a simple return of money is glaringly missing!!
Think hard.

I'm not involved in this except as an interested bystander, but I have to wonder why someone who wanted to buy in Cuevas del Almanzora would be interested in going as far inland as Tabernas. I am sure it has much to commend it as an area but we really are talking chalk and cheese here.

I have to agree with all the points below. Reading between the lines it looks like Huma are pushing their new site and don't seem confident that ACC will get the go-ahead afterall. They mention about taking another property on another site (presumable MCC) for no extra cost if you select the same building type, we have purchased a Tarifa - none on MCC. Plus from what I have read from those who have opted to change to MCC they all say that they have had to pay more. Sick to the back teeth of this whole thing now, why can't Huma do the decent thing for once and offer client's money back?

I agree with janeb, I am not interested in going 1/2 hour inland. plus if i was to go inland i would be expecting a lot more for my money. looking at the info of tabernas on already on the web, the plots seam no bigger, yet the same price.
again where is option 4 - money back!

Hi Jasp
Half an hour inland??? You would be lucky to get there in much under 45 minutes unless of course you are a Spaniard in a BMW!!

Sorry, but in my view this letter is just another clever stalling tactic and probably more to do with the financial side of things.
The letter omits two key points that should have been made and offered :
1/ Definite statement about ACC.
2/ Full money refund option for void contracts on ACC. (Void contract meaning: Developer has not delivered your property in the agreed time frame)
It's written in a way to side - track and convince you that a property change is the best option at the moment. Remember, you , me, purchasers agreed a contract for ACC. If you alter the property purchase it will mean a new contract and with hind sight I would be very cautious about agreeing to it until it was scrutinised and accepted by an expert. Yes, we are all a lot wiser now after this fiasco and so are the people that write contracts !

I agree with all you say Philmel. I also feel that yet again they have not dealt with this in a good way. To just put this letter in their website and not inform us individually is bad. It's ages since they put information in there so unless I had been informed through the forum I certainly wouldn't have known about it. Surely there must be some purchasers who will still not know. This whole experience would have been easier to cope with if they gave regular contact and updates.

Tabernas is FABULOUS - for a days visit. I agree with all comments about the distance inland and would point out if you are prepared to go 45 mins inland THERE ARE NOW, AND THERE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN much, much more spectacular properties for your money!!
I also have real concerns about whether the Junta has given the go ahead for something in this magnificent desert landscape on the scale Huma seem to be talking about. I really hope they have not.
