Hi Chris, totally agree about getting a few quotes for comparison. My only concern is that if we use a company outside Spain, or even outside the Murcia region, if there are any problems after installation we won't have the backup. Could you ask your contact how this would work. Thanks.

Hi All, I agree with Anita's concern. But if we get local quotes along with chrissmith contact we should get a prettey good idea of price and backup service. Back in june bunty mentioned that they were very pleased with the contractor they used. Sounds like a good starter.

Hi Anita,
Our contact covers the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida area so that wouldn't be a problem but certainly agree that after-sales care should be part of the criteria used along with price.

Thanks Chris. So, anyone any ideas where we go from here???
A number of purchasers have expressed interest in a bulk buy but we really need to know those definitely interested and what type of property they have. We are purchasing a duplex penthouse and I know we need a different set up to those purchasing on one level.
Chis, if we ask purchasers to restate their interest and ask them to say what type of property they are purchasing could you put this to your contact? Perhaps put a time limit on the request for the initial quote, anyone wishing to add to that number afterwards would just be a bonus. At least this would give us a guide figure.
We could then put this same number to Polar Air.
Any other ideas of a way ahead appreciated.

Happy to do so when we feel we have sufficient interest. Also, does anyone know a third supplier as although I know the guy that I know will be competitive I want vfm as much as anyone else and 3 quotes would help with this I think.

Just to say to those of you thinking that they might not need air-con. We stayed in a penthouse the last two weeks in Torrevieja (Corvera was hotter still). They had spent their money on a jacuzzi tub for the roof instead of air-con for the apartment. We could only get a few hours sleep each night as it was just too hot. Air-con is a MUST HAVE in our eyes

Hi all we have a 3 bed Menta penthouse - phase 2 and would like to be included in any bulk quotes for air con
We were over 2nd week in august when the work was scaled down, spoke to Pablo and he confirmed that no further works to the Menta apartments on phase 2 island would be carried out until phase 1 external works such as blockwork and render was complete although he still estimates completion for May 2009, while personally do not share his optimism on build timescales I do believe that when Corvera is complete it will eclipse all other golf resorts in the Costa Calida.
Also played golf at Roda twice using one of the vouchers sent out to Corvera owners last year,without pre booking, the staff were happy to stamp the voucher on my first visit and happily accepted it 5 days later for the second round, Roda's club house is first class and I have been told that Corvera will be at least on a par and more than likely better.

Happy to participate in the bulk quotes exercise:
We have a 2-bed Canela villa, and a ground floor 2-bed Laurel apartment, both on phase 2.
Prefer payment only after installation completed, but if firms insist on an advance let's try for 10% holding deposit only, with 90% after completion. Depending on numbers there may be scope to negotiate an extended warranty to 24 or 36 months.
