Creative hair Show in aid of Vera Orphanage

Hi everyone,

My hubby (Barnsleysi) and I don't argue very much, but we are having a small dispute at present relating to size, that is the size of the lounge/dinning area and bedrooms in the penthouse apartment ( not what you were all thinking) .  As usual he thinks they are bigger than they actually are and I think they are not that big!!!, having looked at the pictures of the showhouse.  Based on the plans we have from PW with a scale at the bottom of the page my hubby thinks that the main Lounge/dinning area is approx 7m x 4m (21ft x 12ft) and bedroom 1 is approx 4m x3.5m (12ft x 10.5ft) and bedroom 2 3.5m x 3.5m (10.5ft x 10.5ft), (door recesses not taken into account.). Does anyone agree with him or is he exagerating as usual.

Your all soooooooooo very funny but this is a serious issue I am trying to spend money but unable to do so as I am not convinced of my hubbies calculations.  Barry & Sue can you help out here?

Hi Guys,

The Penthouse is definately smaller than I had expected! 

The scale at the bottom of your layout drawing says 1, 2, 5, 10 with a ref' at the top detailing the square meterage of apartment & terrace. Both scale and square meterage on the same page led me to think that 1, 2, 5, & 10 meant ,1meter, 5meters etc, hence my estimate was similar to Simons. Now that I've seen the photos I think this is not the case. What I have done now is scale things from the only part of the apartment that I'm confident about it's size, the Kitchen Worktop, which is 600mm wide. Taking this as the basis for my measurements I reckon the livingroom is actually only 2.9m-3m wide, about 1m narrower than I first thought.

I'll try to scale all rooms and give an idea on size but the main point is that the scale at the bottom of our layout drawing is NOT meters.

According to my conversions I reckoned the sizes to be as follows:

Lounge        9'2"      by      16'9"   (to kitchen worktop)

Bed 1            9'10"   by       7'10"  (to wardrobe)

Bed 2            8'6"     by       7'10"  (to wardrobe)

Could be wrong but that's my estimate.

You might not be able to rely on the kitchen worktop being 600 mm - the worktop in the Jardines apartments is wider than that.  

ALison - my husband I had a similar discussion when we first saw photos of the Jardines show apartments.  I was convinced we were buying a a rabbit hutch but Paul was adamant that the rooms would be bigger than they looked on the photos.  I have to say that (on this occasion only!) he was right!  When we got over there and saw the apartments, they were bigger than they looked on the photos - still not huge but comfortable and compact!  

I am sure you will be pleased with the apartments when you see them - although we did have to re-think the type and position of furniture that we had planned on.

Hi everyone

ref room sizes in penthouses look  on the los naranjos forum  naranjos apartments  dated 15 july  from forum member maverick 100 he  went  inside  one of the penthouses  and measured the apartment   livingroom is 10.5ft wide  and 16ft from patio door to breakfast bar and bed rooms are 10ft x 10ft

Hi Barry & Sue & Everyone else too,

I just knew you would come up trumps, these sizes are more realistic ( guess the grand piano will have to be scrapped) and god help that poor cat. I will now be able to sleep tonight.

Never mind the size of the apartment - have you seen the views from the terrace and the solarium - fantastic - thats where we are going to be when we aren't in bed!
