Schools in/around Manilva

Hi everyone,
We are buying a penthouse in block 11 and have been in the process since mid 2007. Have been a regular user of this great forum but have just returned from 3 weeks in Florida. Fantastic time but everything seems to have moved on so quickly. I've read all the latest posts but wondered if someone could post a quick summary of the latest position re-Los Naranjos and penthouses. I think I'd better get cracking on setting up a mortgage !

Hi Kevin - Glad to hear you had a good holiday. That's the way it seems to have caught everyone - We came back from a 2 week cruise, only to be called 3 days later to be informed that completions are nigh - Dates given are from 22nd September to early October - That's apartments and penthouses, can't quite work out if there are just specific gardens or all of them, posting are too sketchy at this time. Were you with Cajamurcia for the developers mortgage? Because they still don't have the figures together to give people, we've decided to go through a mortgage broker, can't be doing with the wait or stress. If you've had chance to catch up with all the posts, you'll see that there are some new photos on polarisgolfproperty.com, some very good ones of the penthouses.

Thanks for the comments. Our PW mortgage offer came from Banco Popular. However, I'm pretty sure we're going to remortgage in the UK and take the hit with the exchange rate. Main reason being ease and reducing risk related to future exchange rate fluctuations. It's not an easy decision either way but it will certainly be easier, quicker and less stressful. Main problem may be getting reasonable priced flights at short notice. Anyway, trying not to stress out as I need to recover from several weeks of theme parks and 100+ degree heat ! The bank balance needs to recover as well ! Therefore I'm staying positive and really looking forward to meeting a few of our fellow buyers and those already over in Jardines De Alhama. We're in block 11, first floor so any neighbours out there get in touch !

We have also just return from a cruise to hear all the latest information and are also in block 11 (1136). Polaris World have not contacted us with a completion date but have advisd us to progress with the financing of the final payment as we should be hearing soon. We are currently looking at both uk and spanish mortgage options and will probable be taken over the builders mortgage.

Hi Everyone

Nice to hear from some of our potential new neighbours.  We have bought a Penthouse apartment in Block 10 (number 22) and our thoughts were that they would be ready by the end of the year, but we took a call last week informing us that they are ready to complete our apartment in mid October, and the dates we have agreed are the 14th & 15th October.  We were lucky with flights as we had booked this week to go out anyway and have a look at the area and do some furniture shopping etc. 

Reading the other posts, there is always the possibility that we won't complete on the days given to us, as the habitacion certificates may not be ready, and the general advice is not to complete if they aren't there.

From reading other posts, it seems that PW do not have any logic to their completion system, but you would like to think that if they are starting with completions in block 10 then block 11 won't be far behind.  Either way, it won't be long before we all own a place in the sun, which given the weather in Glasgow at the minute it can't come soon enough!!

Shampers - Just remember how far you have to walk back to your apt - AND how hard and cold those floors will be in Oct without an inflateable ...........  I will  as I watch you on your expedition from the watering hole..... hasta luego
