I  do agree with the space thing only put bunk beds in as we have lots of friends with children, not for the use of adults.

just back from two weeks in our apartment beds were a big concern ,we have a two bedroom apartment ,twin room okay with two singles and bedside cabinet. not much room  between end of beds and wall but room between wardrobe and beds is fine.the other room however is much smaller than i thought ,we had ordered with our furniture company two singles to join together as a double and two bedside cabinets, however the second bedside cabinet would not fit. this room is much narrower but longer than twin room. having to return some furniture now and rethink.

Hi,

I would have to agree with Billbo's post about renting out the 3 bed apartment for 3-4 adults rather than 6.  We have a 3 bed apartment in Jardine 13 and when we are ready to advertise it for rental will probably only recommend it for a party of 4.  I have ordered the beds for 2 rooms and will have a look at the 3rd bedroom when we go out in October.

We have thought about puting in a kangaroo beds but might also consider putting in a bed settee and eventually a 2nd television so that there will be an extra seating area for the kids and their games consoles.  I don't think this would be a problem if we were advertising the accommodation for 4 but would probably not be a good idea if advertising for 6.

When we completed in July we were shown around a neighbour's apartment who had decided to put their table & chairs in the third bedroom and use it as a dining room instead of a bedroom.

You also have to consider that the living room/dining room will only comfortably seat 4 people.

I totally agree with Bilbo, sometimes its quality that comes before quantity!!

My friend and I have already discussed this regarding renting and 4 adults would comfortable fit in both 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, 5 at a push!

Hi all
Heres a thought. I saw it mentioned earlier about only sleeping 4 people in the 3 bed apartment & the queue for the bathroom, well...how about converting the front bedroom in to a luxury bathroom. Easily enough room for spa bath, shower cubicle, bidet & twin basins. The plumbings all there as it backs on to the main bathroom.

Hi Don & Kerry,

Getting carried away with yourself a bit are you not.  Why not turn it into an extra Watering Hole.  I'm sure you'd get plenty business.  But really what would you do with your other bathroom?

Puzzled

On a serious note though. We currently use a 2 bed apartment on Valle De Este...2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. That makes more sense to me. Im not even buying on the Jardaines but thats what I'd consider doing. And it would be fairly easy. Just my personal opinion

Already in my plans Don & Kerry.
Maybe not as grand as your first suggestion but more along the lines of cutting the 3rd bedroom into a single en-suite - corner shower, hand basin & loo. Tight but it will work. Wardrobes will need to be reduced in size. I might do it and patent the design, then manage conversions & live off the proceeds at Condado for ever more !!

Regards,

Despite all these valid points I've already seen the adverts for the two bed for 6 people. I think thats a push from a bathroom point of view and generally from accommodating 6 people in there comfortably. We are not talking about people living in small apartments with one bathroom on a day to day basis, obviously that's taken as a way people live and manage but this is a holiday resort. My brother has four children and having been in the 2 bed apartment I can see it'd be tight shoehorning him, partner and his brood in there, with their assorted debris too. There's five of us too, all adults and a girl friend in tow now and unless some of them are to sleep up on the roof terrace I think its all a bit tight.

I also think people renting and finding how compact the apartments are might be disappointed and that might impact on the reviews of the resort. Where do the golfers store all those golf clubs and electric trolley's?!!

I have to say the one bathroom issue is something that disappointed me from the start - I have already said that I agree that the thought of sharing the 3 bed, let alone the 2 bed with 5 other adults frightening, we have 2 grown sons and when we have rented apartments ( often ) it has been a much more relaxing holiday, when we have had our own bathroom and they have had another to share - With regards the golfers, usually anyone playing holiday golf wouldn't take their trolleys with them and the clubs are just dumped in the bedroom or even the living room, although in our living rooms I don't think this will be practical, except maybe in the 3 bed they could go under the stairs. As for our own golf gear, we will try and find permanent storage area where golf equipment and other personal stuff can be stored. This is all good stuff that people are talking about, makes you think about things before they become too much of a problem and having others ideas makes it an easier process

we're thinking of a lockable store up on the roof terrace for when people are using the apartment- otherwise a couple of sets of clubs can be stored in one of the wardrobes when its vacant. We';d have to always hire a buggy or have a trolley because my husband has had a shoulder op that makes carrying a golf bag around impossible- and golf buggies aren't cheap if you use one every time you're out on the course. Maybe we could buy one for getting around the resort!

Everyone will find their own way round the apartment sizes, have you seen the pergolas with swings seats that become a bed, with curtains - a possible for the roof terrace!!. On our original tick list when choosing an apartment was a full bathroom and an en suite but unless you buy a villa on this resort its not on offer but the rest of what is is so good its really the only tick we couldnt make.

Evening All,

Do you not think there will be lockers of somekind at the clubhouse for storage of golf clubs or is that just wishful thinking on my part.  Don't fancy dirty golf bags hitting off my nice clean walls.

Shout me down if you want but what about a lockable container  on the solarium to store your clubs for everyone on your block to use.  Should be safe I would think.

Food for thought, I'm sure we can solve this problem between us so get your thinking caps on.

Regards

Alison

They are availabe at the garden centre's we've already had a look. In fact the apartment we stayed in at La Torre had an upright one on the rear balcony with all the mop, brushes and buckets in, but you can get the chest ones too. Worth a look but dont think they'll be the first thing we purchase!

WE have thought about this storage problem for golf clubs, both while we are there, and when we are not, and the best we have come up with (to avoid rusting clubs on roof terrace) is to have at least one of our single beds with a storage facility that you access by lifting the foot of the bed upwards towards the headboard.
We have seen these in various bed shops and is something we are intending to look at more closely .

They are called Ottaman beds (not too sure of the spelling!).

More expensive, infact a LOT more expensive, but a good storage option.
