Any information greatly received George. Have received all the necessary forms from Caja Murcia but would ideally like to do some trawlling. Big decision so would like to get some thoughts on who else out there is recommended.

my choice would be halifax as they have quality of service and free transfers of money from a halifax uk account to a halifax spain account.barclays do the same but i refuse to deal with them as they have an indian call centre for intermediaries which is the worst.i even have some woolwich employees on my books who wont use their own company due to the the lack of quality service-lol.

actually both.they have just reduced their uk rates and are now market leaders but also excellent value for money for a euro mortgage.also free transfers make it most economical.most other banks charge £10 min to send money to fund your spanish account.

Another question about opening an account with Halifax, if you choose a Spanish account because it's cheaper do you have to go to Spain to do it at a Halifax branch there or can it be done in UK?
