Group Meeting in the UK?

I only became aware of the Corvera Owners Group and this forum yesterday. I want to attend the meeting being held today and have successfully contacted Lisa, proved my status as an owner and been advised by her that I have been added to the attendance list. However, Lisa has omitted to provide me with the venue and time of the meeting. I have emailed Lisa several times but no response so far.

If any of the regular contacts on this forum have a direct line of contact to Lisa I would appreciate your contacting her asap and ask her toi check her emails and reply to me with details of today's meeting. I am 1.5 - 2 hours travel time away from midlands so need at least that much notice.

I have asked Lisa to contact me on my mobile because I won't be able to constatly monitor emails. A bit reluctant to publish my mobile no on here.

My parents have gone to the original destination sent by Lisa and there is no sign whatsoever of the meeting. They have travelled over an hour to get there and are totally bewildered at the fact that there is no sign of the meeting and the hotel staff do not know anything.

Has any of the details changed since the original location and time was set by Lisa?

They are a genuine Corvera owner and are part of the owners club, having sent Lisa the details and they are now just waiting around in the hotel waiting for some sign of activity having sent me to look for any changes in plan. I would heavily appreciate it if someone could PM me with the updated details so I can ring them ASAP.

To restate what I said earlier, I am genuinly not trying to get the private information that I'm not entitled to, just trying to save my parents from wasting a day!!. If you are reluctant to send me anything without confirmation, I could send you parts of the original details set out for the meeting (i obviously can not send you it all as then that could be counter productive... i do not want to undermine the work Lisa has done to keep this all a secret).

It would be really really great if someone could email with the details ASAP. The meeting was meant to already have started and my parents were really looking forward to going....

Karen here, my husband and I have just got back after a whole day trip to the venue and time advised by Lisa to me personally by email in December to find no-one there and no-one at the hotel had heard at all of either of the parties concerned and knew nothing about any meeting today or any knowledge of such a group!

I am so disappointed as I so wanted to connect up with others and never doubted for one moment it was all genuine. Obviously now I am wondering whether this is some kind of scam as it seems weird as I only emailed my question for the meeting in advance last night and Lisa made no mention of a change of venue or date. I tried to email lisa and the lawyer from my blackberry as well as phoninhg the supposed spanish law office and trying a phone number for lisa my son found, but had no replies from anyone. I phoned my son to try and find out more, hence his post below, but again no replies..were you all at the meeting or do you know something I don't? I'd appreciate some comments by others as to their experience. Before proceeding any further I will now have to find out whether or not this group is really genuine, because it would be foolish to part with any money to a lawyer without seeing they have a genuine office after such an experience, however much we wanted to be part of this. So any comments the others owners may have would be most appreciated, you can email them to me privately if necessary.

Sorry to hear of your wasted journey, I can imagine it was very disappointing and frustrating. I believe the venue was changed in the middle of December due to the fact more people wanted to come and the old venue did not have the capacity to cope. I don't know, but a possible explanation might be that with all the new enquiries and addittional administration you were in some way overlooked or got the old email by mistake. Just to say I'm absolutely sure that the group is completely genuine and will help us owners a great deal in the coming months.

I am sure the confusion is a genuine error - I have sent you a private email. I would suggest that you contact Lisa - you will not be dissapointed. The group is genuine.

Thanks so much to those of you who have sent me a private reply..sadly the forum hasn't yet given me access to private emails which I have requested, hopefully this will happen in the next 24 hours, I'll try to be patient, but from your comments so far it does sound genuine and that I've just been unlucky enough to have been subject to a human error on the whole thing. Am sure the whole thing will be clear to me in the next day or so.

The venue of the meeting was changed and Lisa emailed this to all members inample time - Initially her communications came into my spam folder until I adjusted my settings, I wonder if this might have happened to you Karen (just a thought).

I am sure there has been some admin error which Lisa will be able to explain.

thanks for the explanation and the thought re spam but I really dont think it was in any spam folder as I useD my business email for this which i had set up without any spam filter, instead I use a junk folder in outlook which i go through daily, that way I can ensure I never miss an important email... so i could have overlooked it but i would have thought it unlikely...I guess only lisa can answer whether she sent me an email that never arrived...what date did you receive your notification of change? she sent me a word document with the apparently wrong details on 16th december to me. anyway i hope the meeting was good for you, shame I didn't get to meet you all, maybe there'll bne another meeting someday?

I've sent you a private e-mail via the forum address taking the blame (human error) for what happened by in total honesty I have no explanation for you.

All I can say is the address changed because numbers tripled and before Christmas I was aware that the first location wasn't going to be able to hold us all.

Everyone, 130 people in attendence received my e-mail, and were at The Metropole. I don't know why you didn't receive the message. I can only apologise and if it was my error I'm truly sorry but the only answer I have is I don't know what happened?

The message was sent out as a group message and your e-mail is stored with the group?

It was a unique situation in that I wasn't prepared to send out my personal contact details... I'm sure you can appreciate why but that made it difficult for you to contact me and to be honest I'd ask anyone to please not look up my details and start contacting me via phone etc.

I'm happy to give my time but I've got a business to run and can't let the group organisation take over my entire time.

I'm hoping all the owners that met me on Saturday will vouch that I put as much effort as possible into organising the event and entrance fees shared between owners included my friend Marion giving her time to compile full notes for everyone.

I'm perfectly happy to take the blame for the error but the honest answer is I don't know why everyone got the message and you didn't.

There are ideas going forward which were discussed at our meeting and I would love you to still be part of the group but I'd be fuming if I'd made the effort to travel and the details weren't correct.

 Also I did have quite indepth discussions with the Novotel and their conference and event department did know that I had chosen The Metropole so really someone there could have maybe helped.

Just giving you all the facts.

I was thrilled that so many owners had made the effort to come and I'm truly sorry the error happened Karen.

It's a lesson learnt that maybe I should have checked and checked again but with a busy company to run I genuinely did my best.

I'm so sorry this happened and I hope this hasn't given you the impression I'm untrustworthy in any way.

Just wanted to post to say thanks again for organising the meeting.

It was a great success and everyone I spoke to on the day gained valuable information and are looking to move forward as a group.

Anyone who didn't make it for whatever reason, I would urge you to contact Lisa with your details and find out what it was all about. I think you would find it worthwhile.

As Evertom has mentioned, great gathering, met a lot of people and learnt a lot ( well done Lisa and team).

Economic climate will force a few to abandon the completion any way (it's a fact).

Question is : lifestyle promised by Calidna: is it going to be in situ before completion (1st/2nd Phase buyers)?

Can't see that.

Then there is a question of habitation licence (see new thread), even if we do complete this May.

Many thanks for organising the Owners meeting it was extremely well run as a first occasion. Also please pass on (andI'm sure I speak for everyone that attended) our most grateful thanks to Johnathon. I'm certain that he will have picked up a few new clients from said meeting and his comments are a great comfort to all, even those of us not yet in a position to make a decision on our next move as yet. Also please pass on a big thankyou to your lady helpers who also did a great job on the day voluntarily.

One final reminder to members who attended, please do not put any comments regarding legal issues and/or responsibilities accorded by Spanish Law of either party forwarded by Jonathon. Remember, forwarned is forarmed and we as purchasers need to keep the upper hand on the developer.

Thanks very much for your post ,  private email and apology separately, which is of course more than accepted and really please don't worry, lets put this behind us and just make sure that I am on the list going forward so I don't miss out again. The hardest part was trying to make sense of it all and of course you do get nervous when we're all just conversing in cyberspace rather than reality. I guessed it might be that a meeting was probably going on somewhere but not knowing where was very frustrating, I even thought about calling all the hotels and had thought about asking you to confirm the details prior to the meeting but thought the last thing you needed. I understand how hard it is to organise such things and the fact that you're doing this far outweighs this slip, I am pleased it all seems legit and hope to catch up somehow on what I have missed. I really do want to be part of the group going forward to will discuss this seperately.

Dying to find o8ut what happened..so hoping to get my private area up soon..do the forum admin not work weekends?

Thanks Karen and just to clarify at the moment I am the forum communication for everything, no one else is involved just me. Options to go forward were discussed and I think all will become clear when you receive the notes. I try and do what I can at the weekends but sorry as I explained I've got a realy busy business to run so will try and keep on top of things until we set up a clear structure.
