Thanks Karen and following our meeting everyone who attended might be interested to read the Roda thread that discusses advertising for Roda.

Some interesting comments about Roda facilities that should resonate with some points raised on Saturday.

Hi Lisa

Just a note to thank you for organising yesterday's meeting in addition to all the other liaison work that you have carried out during recent months. The meeting was very worthwhile and I was very impressed with Johnathan's contribution.

Thanks also to your lady helpers.

Regards

Rob

I have been watching the developments with the Corvera Action Group and to be truthful see wether it was ligit.

I have sent a PM to Lisa Mona and i hope she will contact me with regaurds joining the group.

I purchased through MRI and i think enough has been said about that.

We are considering changing our solicitors as well and would appreciate some recomendations, perhaps from LISA MONA or anyone else.

We are Life stilers and purchased a Mentor  on D21 phase 2 and still believe this will be the place to be in the not to distant future.

Thanks

Allan & Dawn

JUST RECIEVED THIS FROM MRI RECOMMENDED SOLICTOR PEDRO REFERRING TO SPECIFIC DATES - AFTER SATURDAY'S GET-TOGETHER HAS ANYONE ANY THOUGHTS AS TO WHY THIS HAS COME NOW?

We are contacting you regarding the completion of your property  at  Corvera Golf & Country Club Resort. After having spoken with the developers we have been told that completion for Phases  I and II at Corvera should start by mid April – May 2009 . They have informed us that they will be contacting you with some time in advance (a month or so) once they can give you specific date for the signature of the Deeds, which depending on the number of your apartment would take place in April , May , June and onwards

In any case and in order to arrange everything for completion we would be grateful if you could please let us know at your earliest convenience the following information:

Finally please find below a breakdown  of all the figures according to the signed Private Purchase Contract (balance of the price, taxes, expenses, etc) involved in the purchase process in case you do not apply for a mortgage , please bear in mind that extras as air conditioning or others are not included in this estimation , so you will also have to transfer also  the excess.

just recieved this from Pedro , MRI recommended solictor mentioning DATES of completion - those at the forum on saturday please take note

Hi all

Funny you should mention Pedro. We have bought on Phase 4 and are due to make our 2nd payment of 15% this week. we contacted Pedro before Christmas and he advised us to withold payment until the building licences had been granted. We then received a follow up e mail last Friday with the following conflicting advice.

Has anyone else received similar advice and if so what have they done?

I have seen lots of replies from people on Phases 1 and 2 and a few on Phase 3 but none from Phase 4. Are we the only people to have bought on Phase 4!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Roger ,

First of all , Happy New Year .

With regards to this payment , even though that there is no Licence and opposite to me previous advice , we suggest you to proceed with the second 15% payment as we have bank guarantee for the first payment.

The main reason for this suggestion is that if finally there is a delay in the delivery of the property and there is a conflict issue or contentious situation with the developers , we can argue in the future that by our side as buyers have accomplished all the obligations within the contract and that we have not been in breach of contract .

Therefore we suggest you to proceed with the payment unless you have financial difficulties to do so , in that situation we will study the case carefully.

With Kind Regards ,

Pedro Orgaz

He's clearly following the activities on the forum.

Happy New Year Pedro!

Cazbaz,

Love the post and the smiley - made my day!

On a more serious note - decision time everybody!

Time to put up and shut up, or make a stand. I would have thought the end of the week is enough time to decide.

Ash

Ther appears to be some people not happy with their lawyer so this might be a good time to mention again  that if you are not happy with your lawyer it might be worth making that change now as completion is not far away, and I would suggest the lawyer  Lisa has recommended for the following reasons

He has already been very helpful

He has put some considerable time into our case, and is already very knowledgeable of it, this should save time and costs

The more of us that have the same lawyer the less expensive it should be if we have to act  to protect our interests

He is fluent in English, appears to be independent, willing to take on the big developers if need be,   and in my experience been prompt in replying to my emails

It should help us coordinate and act as one if we need to protect our interests

I f anyone is interested please pm me for details

Food for thought

Article on EOS may sway you

MADRID (Reuters) - One million Britons have abandoned Spain's bars and beaches in the last year after the pound dived against the euro and the financial crisis took hold, Spain's main tourism trade body said on Wednesday.

Spain, the world's second biggest tourist destination after France, relies on tourism for around 10 percent of its GDP or some 100 billion euros a year. It welcomed 16 million Britons, or 28 percent of all foreign arrivals in 2007.

But, in 2008 the pound weakened to near-parity with the euro -- a 22.4 percent fall -- and cost-conscious Brits looked to holiday in non-single currency destinations to the east.

"Spain has lost 1 million British tourists in 2008. The British are being turned more towards Turkey or Egypt," said Sebastian Escarrer, the chairman of trade body Exceltur and also chief executive of Spain's biggest hotel group, Sol Melia.

He said for the first time he could remember, no British tour operator was operating flights to Spain's Balearic islands of Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza this winter.

Exceltur said Spain's tourism income would fall 5.7 percent this year as the global economic crisis deepened. Spain will earn 40.5 billion euros (36.5 billion pounds) from foreign tourists this year, Escarrer told reporters, down from 42.2 billion two years earlier, according to balance of payments data.

Earnings for the first 10 months of 2008 dropped by 4.1 percent. "Bad figures registered in November and the expected figures for December look like producing a bigger fall up to the end of the year," Exceltur said.

Exceltur, whose members include Spain's main airlines, hoteliers, travel agents and car hire companies said not only was demand falling among foreigners, but also from Spaniards.

It said the number of nights spent by Spaniards in Spanish hotels will fall 5 percent this year. It added that even among the best performers, hotels' key revenue per available room (RevPar) indicator had fallen between 5 and 7 percent over 2008.

Dear 65 WL

Here's food for thought.

As you stated on the Roda forum you don't actually have a property on Roda at the moment and "certainly do not want to buy a property on Corvera". So it may be good for the unsettled Corvera owners if you keep your doom and gloom scaremongering to the Roda forum where you might just frighten one of the owners into panic selling their wonderful dream apartment at a ridiculously discounted price to suit yourself.

just food for thought!

Guys,

In relation to the group action and meeting do we have to be part of the one group with the one solicitor or can we retain our own solicitor and still be part of the united group?

I'm currently using Gonzalo Ross and have no major issue with changing although would like to be part of the combined group effort? Is there anyone else from the group using him?

Feel free to PM me with advice info etc.

Hi again. I'd just like to encourage anyone that would like group information to please contact me directly at corveraownersforum@live.co.uk

If you could please send me proof of ownership i.e letter from Calidona to you as an owner or first page of your contract I will pass everything on to you.

I'd ask all owners/members of the group to not post any names or private information given to the group on this open forum.

Please do not mention solicitor's, notes of meeting etc. It's all confidential. I'm very happy to pass everything on to all owners but please lets keep group discussions via our group e-mail and not on here.

Best Wishes

Lisa

I've also recieved the update, they have said the clubhouse (2500 metre square ) which looks quite impressive , as well as the other sporting facilities, will  be ready by June 09. Are they responding to our concerns?
