Hi Neighbours
While the wife and I were out earlier in the month, we had a company round to give us a quote for Grills & Air Con. While he was there I asked if they could fit an extractor to the bathroom. The guy said would I mind if he had a look at the hatch in the bathroom to give him an idea of what the builders had left in the roof to connect the extractor to. Surprise Surprise…There was nothing!
He said there should have been a conduit leading from the ceiling up through the house and vented out onto the roof, there isn’t anything. He suggested that we did nothing, he said if you fit an extractor to the room it would only vent out in the space between the bathroom and the floor above which in time would smell and cause mild due.
He said the other alternative was to check our contract and see what is stated in it regarding the builder’s responsibility. That’s a bit of a hard one to do as its in Spanish!! If there is anyone on the development who has had an extractor fitted was there ceiling ok, i.e. was there a pipe there to vent there to connect an extractor or was it not mentioned and whoever fitted it has done just what this chap has said and just vented it into your bathroom ceiling!
Love to have feedback on this, is this another Taray cock up or are we just unlucky!
