We are due to complete on our apartment in block 2 any day now. We are buying through an agent based in the UK but with offices here in the area....the lack of information coming through is ridiculous! Emails go unanswered & to be honest it is spoiling what should be a great experience for us. Has anyone else had the same problems?
What happens once you complete? The solicitor is opening a bank account on our behalf...how do we find out about this? Do we get a chq book, cash card??? Does anyone know??? How do we get the keys???? It's just lots of little things like that I need to know.....
Any information is greatly appreciated
Thanks
Sandra

Oh dear Sandra, we know just how you feel! We completed in Block 1 on 8th June, so can empathise. It really was not a great experience but it did get better.
We have a bank account with CAM bank. We transfered our money prior to going out to Spain, we also arranged to get two bank drafts on our day to visit the notary.(one for the Builder and another for our Solicitor) That went quite well. We were given our cash cards by the bank at the same time. Either your agent or your solicitor should take you around to complete these tasks. If you have given power of attorny to your solicitor then you need not visit the notary yourself. We didn't know about this and spent 4 hours th
ere to complete. You get the keys then. I assume that your solicitor will let you know your bank details as soon as the account is opened.

That last message was the Gloria half of xetog, the is the other half, Mike. We do sympathise with your frustration, all the sales patter all comes to nought over 2 years later when all the people you dealt with have moved on and the sales "hooks" faded into dust. You will have heard / seen TV ad which goes "maybe tomorrow, why not today?" well in Spain it is "maybe today - why not tomorrow?" Everyone seems to think that an appointment to meet at 9 means anytime thereafter until 12 or even later, but I guess that's part of the charm of the place, but not if you are trying to get something done!
In spite of everything, we love our apartment and now that the Notary is a figment of our past imagination, we are only sad that we couldn't stay longer, but we will, in fact we plan to visit for another week in October and then a good long spell in January - February. We are sure that once you get past this screamingly frustrating period, you too will fall for the undoubted charms of the place.
Look forward to meeting you sometime.
Mike

Hello all,
I am still waiting for my snagging list to be completed. It has now been 5 months since my list was given to the office. Palacious informed my solicitor that they had carried out all of the work last week but as i have had my locks changed and they have made no contact with my key holder, my mind boggles how they got into the apartment and why my keyholder has checked and nothing has been done???
Is anyone else having problems with their snagging list?
Sue

When we were out to take over our block 1 appt in June, we were aware that we only had a limited amount of time to get the snagging list completed. To be fair, there was very little, but the builder got stuck in within a couple of days and got all but one item done. That was promised for the day before we returned home. We waited in all day and guess what? We ended up flying home without it being completed.
We have been home 3 months now and will be returning in a couple of weeks and hope that the last snag is complete. The developer did call us and ask for access, even though they already knew our keyholder, but we will wait and see when we get there. Just as a matter of general interest, we have also been asked for access on 11th October, so that the final main electrical connection can be made.

We had trouble getting Palacious to come out and do our snagging (I have been waiting since April and now only have one item outstanding the rest was completed a few weeks ago) I have lost track of how many times we were told the work would be done tomorrow and nothing was done. I found my solicitor putting pressure on them and me telling them I was coming out and would go to the office shouting helped!
Regards
Sue
