I think the work going on was discounted by someone who had been there!!!  There is no work going on on the site, according to  those who live locally and can check it out.

Concerns are natural right up to when they do actually re start

But anyone who wants out ,can get out -so if you do have serious doubts start the process to get your deposit money out and by the time you find an alternative you should have you money

I think the number getting out is relatively small but play it the right way and it is not difficult

As at now I suggest that the best advice may be to ' be a little more patient' but if anyone has decided, because of their 'life style change' time scale they can not wait then I can help them find an alternative.....but regret  not at the same sort of price

{ I am also a buyer..Tarifa....and staying in]

Also to suggest that there are not going to be any more large developments in this part of Spain is 'rubbish'

The Junta are proposing to invest 910M € in this area over the next 10/15 years to improve infrastructure and want large scale hotel and holiday development to follow which will be a much bigger investment......besides the new motorway and AVE

The local councils want no hotels and just residential but I think are resigned to accepting that new hotels are needed to promote economic growth as well

Also just up the road to the East of Aguilas is the Marina de Cope ,promoted by the Merciai Council on land owned by the large Spanish Banks!!!...20,000 hotel rooms, 9000 residential units and 2500 boat marina to be developed over 15 years

ACC phase 1 is small compared to the plans for this part of Spain

This is a growth area but unlike the other Costa's it will be environmentally controlled and not a high rise!!

Agree up to a point Brian.  But it is there for all to see where the Junta want the development - along the coast.  They seem to want Vera and the surrounding coastline to absorb almost all of the development, with the inland areas reserved for the hotel developments etc.  It is the inland urbanisations/developments that the Junta do not want.  The whole coast line as it develops has sprung from nowhere - so presumably the restrictions do not apply, since Vera playa did not have any population to speak of.  Neither was it rural land.

You are quick to call something rubbish which does not fit in with your view.  The papers are there for all to see, and are likely to be just as reliable as any others!!

Brian

Brian to Brian!!

Point taken but there is still a lot of inland development going on now!

Because of the delays, our  ACC purchase has now become an investment and we have decided to downsize UK and have bought a winter [ perhaps full time one day] villa just outside Huercal Overa [ otherside of the Sierra de Almagro] and it does have ' all permits'

Actually they are good value...2 bed 2 bath villas in 400m2 + plots from circa 178.000 €

I suppose we are talking in a general fashion but from all my research and visits since I first saw ACC in 2005 and in comparison with other EU countries I do think that , whatever happens to the world economy, in the medium term this area has the best growth prospects

Time will tell!!....................I also think ACC will re start shortly

But I may be wrong!!

"If you are having problems with your agent or lawyer just go direct to Huma"

I take it you think we haven't tried this. Any other words of wisdom?

How long does it take to write a cheque? Or should that be how many Spaniards does it take to  write a cheque. The time it's taking I think everyone in the country has to countersign it

There is a lot of different experience out there!!

On the one hand there are people who have no trouble [ 6/8 weeks] and others who like the recent posts have had continual problems

The agents who sold to you should help and anyone who has dealt with the firm I work with has not had a problem and my information from them is that they are not unusual

I met a couple in Spain in September who had bought via another agent, decided to cancel in December 2006,then found another property 'ready now' in January 2007 and their ACC deposit was returned by Huma in time for them to complete their new property in March 2007

This is not an isolated situation

And yet you still hear the horror stories as per recent posts

May be it is the selling agent not wanting to give back the commission?????

Hi all,

tried looking for other address for huma in past, all link's go to MCC, were staying with acc for now but did ask our solicitor in the past about procedure for cancelling, once you sign and return form to cancell contract should take 6-8 weeks for refund, any longer hound your solicitor,i know easier said than done but you may have to pester them with e-mails and fax, good luck to all weather your in or out

Have you been in touch withe Dunedin (I think his  e name is) on the viva almeria site?  He seems to be able to help with contact details, and says he is currently dealing with 60 enquiries since he put his last post up.

Hi guys, Hi Mikemandy,

I am very sorry to say to all of you that we have finally decided to call it a day and pull out of ACC once and for all.   We have written to Aldea Advisors and parador owners club looking for our monies back.   The whole thing has just left us totally sickened.   We have lost thousands in payments of interest to the bank for a property that never or will never be built.   All these promises by the opposite parties and promises of soon, soon, soon, has just taken their toal.   We have had enough.   I had hopes of retiring to ACC soon but all that is now gone to the back burner.

If you guys have any advice for me at this stage in getting moved along quickly I would appreciate it.   for those wishing to remain, I do in all honesty wish you all the very best for the future.   Regards,

Les

Hi les,

sorry to see your pulling out but i can understand your frustration, our purchase was just to get a foot on the ladder in spain so we can sit it out a little longer, have you seen the new post from tony-b (withdrawing from plan) he had new solicitor, cost 3000 euros but got all monies back in 10 weeks,i wish you luck with whatever you decide to do

Les,

Sorry to hear you are pulling out, seems a great shame with things finally moving and a wave of positive feedback being spread!! don,t you think you should withdraw with caution and can you revoke your termination request up untill the court steps??

I do think and hope you have made the wrong decision for everyone that is left in this development, yet you seem so convinced and commited to pull out !!

All the best.

gary.
