Just arrived home this afternoon. Had a lovely time yet again. Very good progress on the road. Wagons were arriving daily and dropping great mounds on the road. Then the rollers were flattening and preparing it for top lay. I will post some pictures tomorrow (later tonight if i get chance). They are very pleasing and i hope they show it well for you.
The road is now in fact tarmaced from Phase 1 of our development going up the road and the bottom has been built up a good 5/6 feet since last month. They are really getting on with it. From where we were in block 11 it was quite noisy but i actually enjoyed the racket knowing what they were doing!.
Spoke to tom the sky man and sorted out the sky. He seemed very nice. My only concern is whether or not i will get my dish returned to me. Also, Once our 'free tv' arrives my original installer had included returning and connecting the bedroom for the smaller one we have now in the price, but its around 50 euros per socket now so i will have lost money having to pay for that from the new installer Tom.

Hi Suzanne,
Great news about the road, can't wait to see the photos never thought I would be so glad to see pictures of a road.
What's best guess on time schedule for finishing the road Suzanne? So the rest of us can complete.

ok, i've put some pictures on. If you compare them to the ones posted on may 23 you will see just how much it has come along in such a short time. I am reluctant to give an opinion on time, as we have speculated so much, but it seems to me it will be done before the august holiday. Juan is desperate for it to be finished so he can release remaining blocks he said. I reckon July, if not before. There were dozens of workers on site mostly concentrating on the road. Even during siesta time and after hours some of them worked through. They were working on the garage entrances for phase 2 quite vigourously also.
Take a look, see what you think. Guess we just have to hope there isn't a repeat 'sudden stop'. Fingers crossed for you all not having too much of a delay

Thanks Suzanne,
For taking the time to put on the photos, looks like the bottom part of the road is close to being ready for top tarmac, surprised to see the road further up the hill seems to be at a more advanced state.

Many thanks for the photos and commentary Suzanne. Hopefully they will complete the road soon and get more completions done and then with the income get Phase 4 up and running again. Still a little surprised that some of the people on the forum have not had notification of completions in Block 7 yet. Anyway, glad you are enjoying your visits, one day......though not that soon.....envious!!

Got back last night, things are moving now, lots of construction workers on phase 4 all week, it is really moving along. Phase two looks ready now and I can't think that it will be too long. As Suzanne says the road is making headway and I hope that it is ready for July as it will be very convenient for us to go out of the development that side and go to the port.
Worked my way through our snagging, the guys on site are all very nice, approachable and ready to help at the drop of a hat. We have just a few more things to complete and the snagging will be complete. If we were there for longer on our visits they would have been able to complete it thoroughly. Lots more apartments occupied now, in block 6 I would say that 6/7 are occupied.
We had a fantastic week the weather was beautiful and the development is heaven. Our home there is really coming together now but this only makes it harder for us to leave to come back to the UK... still I mustn't be greedy not long and then I am back there.. Can’t wait.

We also had a great time in our apartment last week.....I totally agree...it is much easier to get the snagging completed when you are there...the contractors are very helpful......and most of ours is now completed....just the free TV to go !!!!
The pool in our quadrangle was having a new pump installed yesterday morning as we were preparing to leave...so hopefully that will be clean and blue as the other one by block 6...
The intercom systems, garage remote access, and press button gate access was also all completed on blocks adjacent to ours (block 7) during last week......
There is a lot of general ongoing maintenance being done......cleaners on site....also they started replacing the communal broken tiles on the steps between blocks yesterday...I think this sudden increase in activity is due to the fact that they have brought in some independent contractors...as one of them told me there had been a 'problem' with some workers but now things ' should be good '..
Like everyone else has said...it is looking great...and it is very difficult to leave !! Already looking for flights !

Prienesur have had our keys for about 6 weeks now but we have no idea how they are getting on or if they have even started the snagging. We are out 4 weeks today for a few days to check but it is still a worry. Are they being careful with covering up furniture, etc. Have they done anything about the damp in some of the sheds?
Has anybody still got aircon problems? Questions, questions.
Anyway our snagging lady is chasing them up so hopefully all will be well.

The air con in our apartment is still not working, but we know what is wrong now so we agreed with Juan that the final jobs will be completed when we next visit. We have not left our keys preferring to wait for the work to be done when we are there. The snagging team are good though, in fact nice guys and not a builders bum in sight . I think that everything will be OK. To be fair the dust generally due to all the construction in the area is bad at the moment, you will find that everything will need a good clean when you go back, the utility area and the balcony needs cleaning daily if you want to keep the dust down, it finds it's way into the rooms and wardrobes.
Our lock-up in the garage is completely dry no sign of any damp and nothing we store in it is damp.

My inlaws Phil and Trisha are going out there tomorrow. They have purchased in block 4 and havent been over there for about 18 months, so they will see a big difference (hopefully!). I am sure they will be posting photos on this site when they return to keep everyone updated. If anyone has any news on block 4 i am sure they would be very interested

Re air con problems....we had air con...but an error on the heating aspect...when our electrician was fixing some lighting in the guest bathroom, he lifted the ceiling tile out...and the heating service books and the remote fob all fell out and rained down on him !!! It would appear that who ever was installing the heating/air con...stopped halfway...and forgot to come back and complete the job...!
Juan has now finally managed to get someone who understood the error showing on the display in the lounge and it was fixed within half an hour...maybe those with the air con problem had the same guy installing your systems as we did...obviously my non command of the Spanish language couldn't explain what had happened to Juan...doubt he would have believe it !!

Hi Tracey...yes...we now have two !!! One that was I think in the orange box of goodies...the second fell from the ceiling !!! its just a small greyish fob...maybe 1.5" square...with arrow buttons...
Both had exhausted batteries ( I know the feeling well) but we had them replaced in the iron monger shop in Sabinillas.....we originally had just cold air.....and Juan originally told us that all our block were the same...no heating....but I did a little investigating in another apartment...and they had all systems working...both cold and hot....so after another attempt with Juan we finally had a guy visit during last week who understood the fault showing....when we also showed him the service manual...( our fault was ERR 3)...just a connection to the coil in the celing space above the bathroom....easily rectified....
Hope this helps....

Tracey - thanks for the note that Phase 4 was starting to move again. I was thinking about not coming out until next year but may change my mind and see how things are in October. Glad you are enjoying "heaven", it makes hanging on worthwhile. Thanks again.

David, I don't like to go on saying how great it is, as I am beginning to sound like an over played record, but for us it certainly ticks all the boxes. We are 20 mins from Luton airport and 20 mins from Gib so that makes the journey a walk in the park. The development is in a great location being set between Sabbi and Duquesa, you have all the amenities of Sabbi and the tourist factor of the port. It is not far from either, just a leasurliy walk. If you want to venture further a field then there is Marbella, Ronda, Seville, Gib Jerez, Malaga, all the little white villages and Morroco. So much to do and see if you want to. The beaches have been awarded the blue flag and are not overcrowded. I have not regrets only that I should have done it a lot sooner.
Melwell, I shall note down your fault number, just in case. I certainly do not have a fob so shall see Juan on my next visit. It was probably my fob in your bathroom ceiling .

Tracey, totally agree with everything you say! Hence we are hanging on another year, as it does tick all the boxes. Been out several times but don't have the option of flying in to Gib at present although I believe flights from Manchester are back on again from September so worth a try as it's so much closer (and better half likes Gib for perfume etc!!). Been swimming iin the sea in October to the surprise of some locals! and like the restaurants, cafes etc along the front. I've just persauded myself to go out again soon!

Yes you will be able to fly into Gib from Manchester, and you will notice how much easier it is, the luggage is on the conveyor belt practically as soon as you are through passport control, a short walk over the border to collect car and 20 mins later you are there. There is never any traffic on the road. Easy and no hassles. If you are up for an adventure take the bus for about 3 euros it takes 45 mins to Sabbi.
Book yourself a flight and go over for a week, there is someone advertising their apartment on the EOS holiday rental page so you could stay in phase 1 if you wanted, that would give you a real feel for the place.

Hi
We agree with you Tracy ticks all the box's even though we are still having problems with the A/C, we are due out there in July and hope that by then it will have been sorted out as that time of year it will be rather hot .
I read that the entry system is working hope they have got it sorted out as our's in block 5 looked on the gate on block 6 not much use if you are trying to see who is ringing your bell .
Has anyone heard anymore about the new fob for the garage gates as Juan said he would get ones that you could use from inside your car ?
Any more news on the T/ Vs ?
Regards
Robbie / Barbara.
