Just had snagging completed on our Jardines 9 apartment by Emma and Trevor.

Good news is the few problems there are are all very minor, got the pics this morning from Emma, its great to see our apartment finished and the views from the roof terrace.

W fly over on Sunday but had no news from PW or Solicitor so not holding my breath.

Thanks Emma and Trevor your snagging service saved us a lot of hassle getting earlier flights etc , especially if we don't complete tomorrow.

Currently in Spain just now.  Agree with snagging comments below - Emma's husband Trevor accompanied us on our snagging visit on Monday, and was well worth having him there to spot things that we wouldn't.  Nothing major wrong, but it helped spot things like chips in tiles or kitchen cabinets that you might not spot until later and then annoy you.  Emma has been very responsive on email too.

Also, completed on time on the original date agreed with Polaris (8 July)!  The habitation certificate was received by my Spanish solicitor on Monday, just in time for completion on Tuesday.  After reading all the posts on this forum, we had visions of having to complete by POA when we had arranged to come to Spain with the kids etc anyway for a combined holiday / completion, but thankfully everything came together just in time.  The process in the notary's office was very slow - took about 3 hours -  fortunately our kids took their Gameboys with them etc.  It was great to get our hands on the keys, which if you haven't seen them are about 3 or 4 inches long - no chance of them falling out of your pocket and not noticing!

Good luck to everyone else completing soon.

Michael

Congratulations Michael,

Its good to know things can go well and according to plan.

As I said we should complete tomorrow but I cannot get a response from PW or our solicitor about the certificates, just have to wait and see.

Have a good holiday the weather here is aweful.

Hi all,
Just to let you know that we finally recieved our certificate of habitation at 5.30pm on Friday 11th. (Garden 9). Here's hoping that the bank, solicitors and polaris don't mess the completion on Wednesday 16th. Don't forget it's Carol's birthday.
      Watch this space.

Congratulations Chris and Tracy - nearly there!  Hope your solicitor manages to complete on the 16th.  When are you hoping to go out to Spain?

The Habitation Certificates and completions seem to be coming thick and fast now!  Has anyone actually managed to complete whilst they have been out there?

Can't wait to go out in August with all our furniture and get the apartments set up.   A lot of hard work to do, but can't wait to see it all finished.

Good luck to Carol and everyone else who is completing next week.

Debbie and Paul

Hi again Chris & Tracey

I,m not ingnoring your PM, I found a link to you message in an E-mail from eyeonspain but when I clicked on it i was returned to this forum site and not to your message.
It's probably my incompetance in dealing with the internet, it takes me ages and many attempts to even bring up this site.
I have sent a message to the eyeonspain team asking for their help.

Hi Debbie and Paul,
Thanks for the message, fingers crossed for Wednesday, just hope it goes well. We will be hoping to go over sometime in October or early November. We're not as far ahead as others as we will be ordering our furniture and lights after completion so it depends on when they can deliver. With all the work we've had to do regarding completions ordering furniture etc would have been a nightmare. Good luck in August, wish we were as organised.
Roy and Elizabeth,
Log in to the forum, you will then see on the top right hand side "log in", click on this and then in the same place you will see "private messages".
                                         Regards,
                                                Chris and Tracey.

Hi everyone,

We completed last Wednesday, 7th July without any problems (Jardine 13).  However, our solicitor had 6 signings to do the day before and none of them completed so perhaps we were very lucky.  We did the snagging on Tuesday 6th July, we only found minor problems.  Apparently PW are trying to get as many completions done as possible before things close down in August.  While we were snagging we saw a couple of people who were moving in to their new apartments so they must have completed earlier in June.

The site is looking very good now.

Whilst we were there we visited a couple of furniture shops and got a rough idea on prices.  We have looked at a few furniture packs but decided they are not right for the apartments because they are so small.   We went into a shop called DFS in St Javier and got some prices for individual items and the staff were English so communication was easy.

We have used DFS for much of our furniture and lighting. They are very helpfull, and have got all the measurements for the apartments. They have even had furniture made in smaller sizes to fit the rooms.
They are also handy for visiting when going to the notarys office in San Javier as it is on the same road.

Hi,

Sounds a good idea that DFS has scaled down the furniture to fit the rooms. I assume this is for lounge stuff such as chairs, settees, etc...? What are the prices like compared to the standard sizes/

Also, has anyone who has kitted out the lounge managed to get in two extra chairs as well as the settee. If so how have you managed it.

Thanks

Phil

Hi Roy And Elizabeth (R&E)

Welcome to the forum, your PM system may well not work if you have only recently registered with EOS as they don’t activate it strait away, if you have sent the EOS team an email asking for help they will soon activate it. When its activated you just go to the top of the EOS page and click on the words Private Messages at the top right of the page and it will take you to any messages you have and then just click on the one you wont to see.

Hope this helps

Phil

Hi all

Just arrived back from completing on Jardin 13.  All went well, but very tiring.  Bought most of our furnifure from Ikea Murcia - 75 euro to deliver and they offer a service to put all together if you wish.  Went to Carrefour in cartegena and bought all white goods ,2 single beds (double bought from Ikea) and TV all very good prices. 15 euro delivery charge.

Care - Whilst we  stayed on site a friend of ours found 3 disgarded snagging reports in seperate bins around the complex.  They have kept them and they were all Polaris own snagging reports.  Dont know why they would throw the reports in the bins by the apartments.  I was getting very annoyed at the prospect of a kind of conflict of interest...... Our friends have kept these and will take the issue up with polaris at a later date.... Very unusual I thought!.

Anyway absolutely exhausted so need to say goodbye for now.

Good luck Carol hope all has gone well with your completion.  We left you a little something, hope you found it..!!!!!

PS - Carol have you noticed we only have 1 light on our path - We need to both ask why.... Mind you the whole place is lit up like Blackpool Illuminations.  What about our carbon footprint.

Best regards

Chris & Ja (Jardin 13)

Hi Chris
I'm afraid your latest PM did not come through and (the email with the link did) and on clicking the link I still have the message "you have no unread messages".
Have contacted the team you say that they will contact me within 24hours - 2 still to go!
Have also contacted Aweber Live who say they can see that I've already verified to the list and that they have already emailed me message 1. They say that they "simply host their email"
they I take it being eyeonspain, and that I should contact them directly.(which I've already done!).
I wonder if others are getting their PMs
I decided to try to send you a PM to see if the system works the other way round please let me know whether you get it or not.
Its a pity that I'm having this somewhat frustating problem as otherwise I find the site superb and just what's needed.
cheers Roy

Hi Roy

In my moments when not wandering round the expanse that is Condado de Alhama I can be quite useful I think.

I always get the e.mails re PMs, I click on the link and it always says ''no messages'' when i get through, but then when i click on the little blue 'private messages' in the top right hand corner (the bit below ''You have 0 new'') then hey presto there they are, all these PMs either seeking my advice or telling me I'm not welcome on their terrace on my 100km walk back from the nearest watering hole to Jardin 4.

Dave (nee Shampers)

p.s. think it's safe to come out now as Carol (Cybil) has gone to Spain to complete
