Washing Machines and Tumble Dryers

Just checked - the web ad is correct.  It is Los Olivos you want - new build properties.  The site says from 150, but I promise you, if you speak to them, they are selling them at 145, and may even be open to offers.  I should also say, the standard of furnishing is very high!!!

We were not going to put anything else on but thought the following may be of interest.

We phoned our solicitor in Vera and expalined we wnated to pul out as Huma were in breach and nothing was happenening on site.

Huma will NOT pay any compensation or interest to any persons withdrawing.

They are using two banks.

One bank pays up quite quick. Eg within a few months.

The other Bank ?.... People have been waiting 8 months plus and are now taking Huma to Court just to get the deposit let alone interets or compensation. 

I was told that Huma will delay and stall where possible.

Wonder why that is ?

Anything to do with the amount of money they are having to pay into the Mazzaron development?

A message went up yesterday on the viva-almeria forum - ACC - about getting money back and the costs involved.  It also names a lawyer who has had some success. It would be worth you haveing a look at it.

Thanks for the link Bri.  Unfortunately, the only style that I could find that's comparable to the Tarifa was the semi-detached bungalow, with solarium, on Los Cerezos, which are way out of my price bracket at 171000€ (55000€ (+47%) more than the Tarifa)

Looks like I'm going to have to stick with the Tarifa, or forget about buying all together.

Surely it's irrelevant which bank is involved.

They will only act on Huma's instructions.......or lack of them.

Which ties in nicely with the lack of input from our agents Parador and our Parador recommended solicitor.

Snouts in the same trough and backhanders spring to mind

If Huma (big IF) are sticking to the letter of the Law, then they would have deposited the stage payments into 'special' bank accounts where the money is held until the property is completed (or there is a claim against the contract).  Huma can borrow against the amount on deposit (and receive any interest earned), but have little, or no, control over it.  So, unlikely as it may seem, Huma may just be telling the truth on this one.

Unfortunately, this is true of 99% of businesses worldwide.  They would rather cut off their right arms (figuratively) that return money.  Why do you think the Spanish Courts are gridlocked?
