Tracey there is one good point to this delay. By the time we achieve completion they will probably have finished the M1 Widening Scheme and that will make driving to Luton Airport a whole easier!

£40 return in Dec ? Brilliant price, if only we had apartments, eh ?
We have slept on it and are sticking the course but I really don't want this to drag past next year (surely it couldn't , could it ?) otherwise it's going to be a very close call.
In a fit of pique I checked on-line over the past few nights at other apartments for sale, and I just can't see anything else in the Duquesa area that would make me jump ship.
So we have resigned ourselves to another bout of waiting.

The way it's going we may be considered for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records, for the longest wait from build finish to completion. If someone had said to me two years ago that we would still be waiting to complete November 2007 I would have laughed...I am now becoming very sceptical as to when we will ever actually complete.
It seems that England may win the World Cup first!!

Can I just let you all know that there are a lot of unsold aparments in Coto Real and the prices have dropped dramaticly by the builder, as It's just up the road from Arenal, would you not claim on the bank gaurantee and get your money back and go for one of these. we bought ours in Feb 2006 and have just been finished and all we are waiting on now is the habitat licence. They are really nice.

Coto Real is really just up from Arenal, we paid 296 euros for two bed two bathroom and when we went last month with barrington homes to book for a week rental as we had lots of lawyer and financial work to do., we picked up the keys and while waiting looked at the adverts and one was for Coto Real for sale as 225 euros, when I asked why she said it was because the buyer couldnlt afford it after paying £60000 deposit and was opting out, so the builder was just after the rest without the 30%, so I would have grabbed it knowing what we know now.
Please email me on my PM and I will give you any help I can, just wish some one had done this for us,

The prices leema is quoting for Coto Real are considerably more than the price for my apartment in Arenal Duquesa. I bought early on and I know I got it at a good price. However, there has to be a cut off point and I feel I am fast approaching it.

Prices will never drop to below what you paid Alan. I know when i mention value of properties a lot of people then post that that is not most important thing. For me neither, but none of us wants a property that has no potential for investment either, whether its just for personal enjoyment or rentals we all want it to be worth more than we paid, otherwise the money could have been making money just sat in the bank.
As most of you know i purchased mine as a resale back in 2006 but haven't been in from the beginning so prices could be dangerously close to dropping below what i paid if the current market carries on dropping but i'm still hanging in there.

i paid 220,000. i often wonder why most people won't say what they paid. i believe the guy i purchased from paid around 179,000 back at the beginning so he made his profit anyway. my valuation came in at 260,000 but i;m not confident at the moment that they are going to sell for that immediately. however, i firmly, really do believe that they will increase and increase once the development is finished. not many appartments are walkable to beach and all amenities so close by with such a good specification and finish. although i do think they are a little small

I was lucky to be in at the start and paid 175,000. We valued at 237,000 12 months ago but are waiting for another valuation, although we will hold off until we definitely can complete. I also don't understand why people are hesitant to publish what they paid.

Don't forget that Leema is also waiting for the licence on Coto Real. And we all have first hand experience of how long that can take, regardless of if the development is finished.

The apartment for sale on Coto Real is on the first phase which already has the licence, not quite sure how many are left on phase one.
