And these are the lyrics:
Hace unos años, a su edad
sólo pensaban en jugar.
Hoy, todo ha cambiado ya.
La niña quiere ir a bailar.
El papá dijo que no;
él no sabe del amor.
La mamá le sonrió.
La niña no salió.
Ella les explicó:
"Hoy nada es igual,
que mi vida cambió;
yo ya sé del amor".
El padre no escuchó...
La niña no salió.
Y es que, a veces, la razón
nada importa en el amor.
Que se ama sin pensar,
sin importarnos más.
"Acuérdate, mamá
-la niña le rogó-;
recuerda aquel ayer,
cuando sentiste amor".
La madre sonrió...
¡La niña al fin salió!
Lairolá, lairolá,
lairolá, lairolá,
lairolá, lairolá.
La niña al fin salió.
Esta es la historia y la canción
de una niña y de un amor.
Esta es también la realidad.
Así es la vida y nada más.
Y es que hoy todo cambió
sobre todo en el amor.
Ya no piensan en jugar.
Quieren ir a bailar.
La historia terminó.
Tuvo un feliz final:
La niña fue a bailar,
la edad no importa más,
ya sabe del amor...
¡La niña al fin salió!
Lairolá, lairolá,
lairolá, lairolá,
lairolá, lairolá,
la niña al fin salió.

And these are the lyrics:
Unos que nacen otros moriran
Unos que rien otros lloran
Agua sin cauce rio sin mar
Penas y glorias, guerras y paz
Siempre hay porque vivir
Porque luchar
Siempre hay por quien sufrir
Y a quien amar
Al final las obras quedan
Las gentes se van
Otros que vienen las continuaran
La vida sigue igual
Pocos amigos que son de verdad
Cuantos te halagan si triunfando estas
Y si fracasas bien comprenderas
Los buenos quedan los demas se van
Siempre hay porque vivir
Porque luchar
Siempre hay por quien sufrir
Y a quien amar
Al final las obras quedan
Las gentes se van
Otros que vienen las continuaran
La vida sigue igual

And these are the words:
Tan dentro de mi
aún llevo el calor
que me hace sentir
aún llevo tu amor
tan dentro de mi
que aún puedo vivir
muriendo de amor
muriendo de ti.
Como buscan las olas
la orilla del mar
como busca el marino
su puerto y su hogar
yo he buscado en mi alma
queriéndote hallar
y tan solo encontré mi soledad.
Y a pesar que estás lejos
tan lejos de mi
a pesar de otros besos
quizás Gwendoline
aún recuerdes el tiempo
de aquel nuestro amor
aún te acuerdes de mi.
Y aún recuerdo aquel ayer
cuando estabas junto a mi
tu me hablabas del amor
y aún podía sonreir
y aún recuerdo aquel ayer
y ahora te alejas de mi.
Le he pedido al silencio
que me hable de ti
he indagado en la noche
queriéndote oir
y al murmullo del viento
le he oido decir
tu nombre.. Gwendoline.

Etymology of some spanish words 3
Wednesday, February 24, 2010
Agua = Water : From the Latin "Aqua", this word related to the latin words "Aquilus" = oscuro = dark; and "Aquila" = "Aguila" = "Eagle", or perhaps, originally, "The dark".It derives from the European root, "Akwa, from it derives in got. "ahua" = "Rio, aguas", with the ang. Sajón "ea" = "Rio", the al. ant. "aha"and al. mod. "ache"and also with the pro. gem. "Agwijo" = "Perteneciente al agua" = "Belonged to water".
Alcalde = Mayor : From the classic article "qadi" = "Juez" = "Judge", keeping the definite article "al", as it happens with another words in Arabic. In that language, today it means: the Judge, who applies the "Sharia" (Cadi). From root "q-d-y", it is relative with the verb "qada" = "To finish, to complete".But also: "Decree, determine, decide" and "Judging, to act as a Judge, deciding legally".

Acción = Action : From the Latin "Actionem", that comes from the verb "Agere" = "Hacer, poner en movimiento, conducir" = "To do, Set in motion, To drive".
Advento (or better: Adviento) = Advent. From the Latin "Adventus" (Llegada, arrivo = arrival).
This word is composed by the prefix "Ad" and the participle of the verb "Venire" (Come)..And it has to do with another languages, like Italian, with "Gimti" = "Nacer" --perhaps of to "Llegar al mundo" = "To arrive to the world. In Sanskrit "Gamati" = "He goes".In old German: "Kuman" or in Anglo-Saxon: "Cuman" = "Venir".In modern English: "Come".The latin word gets, in the Christian world, at the begining of the Middle Ages, the time before the arrival of Christ; that is, Christmas.

Abad = Abbot : From the accusative "Abbatem" of the latin word "Abbas", that comes from the word "Abba", in Aramaic, which means: Father. It came to us through the Christian Religion and it for us means: the most important authority of a congregation of monks. From there comes the word "Abadía", from the Latin "Abbatia".Another word, "Abadejo", is related to Abadía, because Abadejo was a kind of fish, similar than cod, that was eaten, by monks, in Monasteries.
Abrir = Open : From the Latin, "Aperire" = open, discover.Coming from the Indoeuropeo "Ap = fuera = out; and: Wer = cubrir = cover.Wer, in German = Wehren = defender; in English: "Warn" = advertir; in French: "Garir" = defender and "Warantir"; and, from there, it comes, in Spanish: "Garante" and "Garantía".

And these are the lyrics:

And these are the lyrics:
Ay! Pá que vivas con más ganas
y no tengas miedo a nada,
yo te canto cada día
y que el sol brille en el alma.
Pá que nunca se haga tarde,
si tu corazon te arde
yo te canto con la luna
y las estrellas de mi parte.
Voy a llenar tus penas de lunas nuevas,
tus inviernos de primaveras,
y tus sueños en tus venas,
y por bandera mis caricias
llenas de la magia de querernos
de este fuego que nos quema.
Sin mover los pies del suelo,
mira cómo nos movemos,
desde el centro de la tierra
hasta el fin del universo...
Ay! Pá que vivas con mas ganas,
y no tengas miedo a nada,
yo te canto cada día
y que el sol brille en el alma.
Pá que nunca se haga tarde
si tu corazón te arde,
yo te canto con la luna
y las estrellas de mi parte.
Sin mover los pies del suelo,
mira cómo nos movemos,
desde el centro de la tierra
hasta el fin del universo...
Ay! Para q vivas con mas ganas,
y no tengas miedo a nada,
yo te canto cada día
y que el sol brille en el alma.
Pá que nunca se haga tarde
si tu corazón te arde,

And these are the lyrics:
oh, no

And these are the lyrics:
Los malos tiempos pasaron
al fin tus desaires se fueron
el juego de mi locura
que investastes solamente para mi
Ay!cuánto daño me hiciste
Cuando besaste su boca
el alma quemaba por dentro
sabiendo que estaba cerca el fin
Primavera clara

Military maxim, atributed to the Great Captain. With it, is emphasized the convenience of desirability of providing, if possible, an exhaust opening in the defeated enemy, instead od picking on him. With this sense, it appears in the Quijote.

A spanish tradition

Tonight, will be celebrated the Final of the contest of groups in the Carnival of Cadiz.
Every year, there are 4 different categories: Coro, Comparsa, Chirigota and Cuarteto. The Coro (Chorus) is a big group and they use to sing seriously. The Comparsa is a medium group and they sing in a funny way.The Chirigota is a medium group too; but they sing in a more funny way --they use to sing some pretty hot songs; also they use to sing against politicians--.And the Cuarteto is a little group (only 4 members) and they use to talk about some issues and, after, they sing, in a funny way.
I love Chirigotas and this year -- they will act tonight-- what I like mcuh more is: "Los que no se enteran de ná" = "Who (they) do not learn anything" ; (na = nada = nothing). The last year, this same group was named: "Los enteraos" = "The Knowledgeable".I love this group.I am going to show you a little bit of them --although it is a few difficult to understand the lyrics--.These lyrics are composed by a famous composer in Cadiz, named SELU.If you want to watch the video, please clic down here:
And these are the lyrics:
PASODOBLE 2
Hoy voy a comprar yo unas gafas,
para verlo en 3 dimensiones..,
eso es una vez na más y en un futuro a mi nieto yo se lo contaría.....o no
Y si no pudiera verlo, tampoco me importaría,
y se abriran los cielos..., sera extraordinario;
aunque estoy oensando yo...otro Juicio mas....¿Como le va a sentar a la Campanario? (Maria José Campanario is the actual wife of the famous bullfighter, Jesulín de Ubrique).
Mala suerteeeeee,
repercuti.......repercuti.....repercuti........
¡¡¡vamo!!! ....ya verá tú pa parcáaaaaa.......
Lyrics in English:
I have heard that 2012 is going to fulfill a prophecy that said Maya.
....that will come the end of the world...
over the years he is been here the world....
it maybe is bee a lot of years...
and it has touched my view;
that is named luck....
I do not know when it will happen, in the morning or in the afternoon, I do not know; to see if evening.....hopefully.....
In the morning I have to go to take a paper....
Apparently, says that a meteorite will collide with the Earth; listen carefully what a big hole.....
And at that time, all species will be lost.
(while not miss the spices of the snails....). Here they say: especies = species (kind of animals); but, really, they are: spices (for food).
Today I am going to buy glasses,
to view in 3D;
that is once nothing more and, in the future, to my grandson I would tell it....or not.
And if I could not see it, I would not mind, because that surely the Onda Cádiz repeats it the next day....or not.
And it is said that, after, it will come the Doomsday, and the heavens shall be opened....; it shall be extraordinary.
although I am thinking .....another trial......How it shall be done well to Campanario?.
Bad luckkkkkk.......
that matches the end of the world, when it is held the Constitution in Cadiz.......
The Constitution and the end of the world...,
two great events together....
that, her in Cádiz...
affect...affect....affect......
Come on....and really your parking..........

Tipo = the way to wear the group --included all the supplements--.They represent to a type of character of our society.

The next day......I wanted to die!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Pure diarrhea.......In French, Constipation is ESTREÑIMIENTO = CONSTIPATION. Just the same, in English.
Explanation: When we are colds, we use to say that we are "Constipados".
jajajajajaja

Another young woman was in her job and she had a co-worker with whom she had confidence; then, she sent him a message, that said: "Cariño, estoy esperando tu llamada, cuando tengas a bien, me llamas y nos vemos" (estaba esperando unas muestras importantes, para una gran compra).Well, but...his fool brother, who was setting the message for the autoresponder, he is wrong and sets as my outgoing message.Imagine the laughter.....Even his wife was angry with the message...!!!!!.
jajajajajaja

Another young woman did not see well; then, she says: one day,I saw how a lady was gotting off the bus and she was coming to me and she smiled. Then, I thought that she was my Aunt Marge.I went, running to her, shouting: "Titaaaaaaa.....Titaaaaaaa!!!!". Tita is = Tia = Aunt --Usually it is used above all in Andalucía--.I went running, with my arms open.....When she was one meter from me......., I saw that she was not my aunt.........To cover...., I kept running and screaming down the street: Titaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!. What a shame!!!!!!!!!.
jajajajajaja

Another young lady, married, tells that she is so clueless and, one day, she had to go to a hotel, in ordr to be interviewed by the Director of the hotel chain. Then, she was preparing the interview at home and thought to take her childre to the cinema, the day of the interview, before 9:30 a.m., when the intervie should happen.Well, she left the children in the cinema and went to the hotel. When she was into the lift, she makeup her face, looking in the mirror. She saw that the dress, bought with a money given by her boss, was well. Also, she saw the shoes --which were a present from her husband--; but....she saw she had not her shoes.....!!!!!, she forgot them at home....and she was wearing the house slippers!!!!!.She thought: "Oh...what a shame.....tierra, trágame.....= earth, swallow me....How I am going to do the interview so....?!!!!!!".Then, she wanted to calm herself...and started to think about a solution....She thought she could go to buy some shoes in The Corte Ingles....; but it should open at 10:00 a.m. --and she had the interview at 9:30 a.m.--.Suddenly, a hotel attendant (a young woman) tell her that perhaps she could get two shoes for her. Then, the attendant, looked for the shoes and got two for the lady, who could go to the interview.
A time past, she met with the Director and she told him the truth --that day, with the shoes-- and he told her that he was surprised, when he was able to see that the shoes which she weared, were the same as used by company employees. What a coincidence!!!.

Spanish singer: Pasión Vega.Video and lyrics together
Tuesday, February 9, 2010
At the begining of the next video-clip, you can read: Pasión Vega and Carlos Cano; it is so, because Carlos Cano composed this song.
If you want to watch the video with the song sang by Pasión Vega, please clic down here, on the triangle of Play:
And these are the lyrics:
HABANERAS DE CADIZ
Desde que estuve, niña, en La Habana
no se me puede olvidar
tanto Cádiz junto a mi ventana, Tacita lejana,
y me traían, ay, tierra mía,
calabazas, huertos...
Aún pregunto quién me lo cantaba...
Estribillo
Que tengo un amor en La Habana
y el otro en Andalucía,
no te he visto yo a ti, tierra mía,
más cerca que la mañana
que apareció en mi ventana
de La Habana colonial
tó Cádiz, la Catedral, La Viña y El Mentidero...
Y verán que no exagero
si al cantar la habanera repito:
La Habana es Cádiz con más negritos,
Cádiz, La Habana con más salero.
II

Funny phrases of spanish children
Monday, February 8, 2010
Today in the morning, I was listening a spanish radio station and, suddenly, they talked about "Funny phrases of children".That made me think about children, their "world", a particular world, special and misunderstood world.
Many times, we (adults and more concretely parents) think that children are more fools than really they are; we think that they do not learn anything; we underestimate their intelligence and we do not trust them; we denied too much --there is a song, by the spanish singer (Juan Manuel Serrat), that says: "Niño, deja ya de molestar con la pelota, que eso no se dice, que eso no se hace, que eso no se toca" = "Child, stop bothering with the ball, that this is not said, it is not done, that is not touched"--.Of course, I think that children must be educated; but also I think that, sometimes, we are a little bit hard with them.
Then, today, in the radio program, they told a story:
A day, one child (Mario), came back to his home, very serious. and his father asked him: "Son, why are you serious?" and Mario answered: "Well, my friend Huguito was very serious because he discussed with his father"."Why?" --asked Mario´s father--."Because Huguito´s father did not let him to go to a place; then, Huguito asked his father why he may not go there and his father told him that it was better for Hugo not to go there; Hugo insisted and asked his father why he knew that it was better. Then, Hugo´s father told him that he (the father) had more experience, he had read much more than Hugo.....and so on...." --told Mario to his father--. Then, Mario´s father said:"Clear, Mario, Hugo´s father is on right: he has much more experience than Huguito, he knows much more than his son".Then, he told his father: "Then, also you know much more than I. Well, dad: "Who invented the telephone?", and his father answered him: "Well, the telephone was invented by a Sir, named Alexander Graham Bell".And Mario answered his father:"And why it was not invented by his father, if he knew much more than his son?".
After that story some people phoned to the radio station in order to tell their own stories, with their children: mothers and fathers telling phrases said by their children. It was very funny and interesting. And I have thought that, perhaps, you should like to know some phrases said by some spanish children.
One funny phrase, said on the radio, was: a rescuer told that a day, he was working in a swimmingpool and he saw a little girl, 6 years old, more or less, who got into the pool and, when she made standing in the pool, she cried: "Ésta sí tiene suelo" = "This one does have ground".
Another story: Marta, 4 years old, a day she heard that Humans comes from donkey. Then, she asked her mother: "Mamá, ¿Cuando tú eras mono, ya llevabas gafas?" "Mom, when you were monkey, already you wore glasses?".
Other story: In the infant school, where Manuel ( 3 years old ) goes, also some babies go. A day, Manuel was seing how a baby, 10 months old, was reading a story --how he was passing the pages of it-- , while the baby was babbleing nonstop, and Manuel told his teacher: "No me gusta nada cómo lee en Inglés" = "I do not like how it reads in English".
David, 5 years old, asked his parents: "¿Vosotros, cuando yo tenga novia, dónde vais a vivir?" = "When I have girlfriend, where you will live?".
Pedro, 4 years old: his parents decided to make the identification card for Pedro, two months ago, and it has arrived two weeks ago. When Pedro´s mother showed it to him, Pedro cried: "Uy, qué bien...., ahora ya puedo conducir" = "Oops, that well..., now I can drive".

Spanish singer: Manolo Garcia.Video and lyrics together
Monday, February 8, 2010
In 2001, Manolo Garcia publised his second album, NUNCA EL TIEMPO ES PERDIDO, where their were included several songs, like: "Rosa de Alejandría", "Con los hombres azules", "Vendran dias" and "Prendí la flor".
My favorite song is "Con los hombres azules".If you want to watch the video, belonged to this song, in Live, please clic down here, on the triangle of Play:
And these are the lyrics:

Video and lyrics together
Sunday, February 7, 2010
In 1998, El último de la fila decided to dissolve the group, definitely.
Then, Manolo Garcia started his own career, alone, and in 1999, published his second album --more famous than the first one--, under the tittle "Arena en los bolsillos".Here, they included, at least , two famous songs: "Pájaros de barro" and "A San Fernando, un poquito a pie y otro caminando"..
If you want to watch the video-clip of the song "Pájaros de barro", please clic down here, on the triangle of Play:
And these are the lyrics:
Por si el tiempo me arrastra
a playas desiertas,
hoy cierro yo el libro
de las horas muertas;
a playas desiertas,
hoy rechazo la bajeza
del abandono y la pena.
Ni una página en blanco más.
Siento el asombro de un transeúnte solitario.
En los mapas me pierdo,
por sus hojas navego.
Ahora sopla el viento,
cuando el mar quedó lejos hace tiempo.
···

Video and lyrics together
Thursday, February 4, 2010
In 1995, El último de la fila published the album "La rebelión de los hombres rana" and, in it, they included the famous song "Sin llaves". If you want to watch the videoclip of this song, please clic down here:
And these are the lyrics:
soy alga en el mar de la calma;
Quien duda no espera
Almost at the end of the videoclip, you can see a painting; I think that it happens because Manolo García loves painting --in fact, he is painting since he started his musical career--.

Spanish singer: El último de la fila.Video and lyrics together
Wednesday, February 3, 2010
In 1988, El último de la fila published the album "Como la cabeza al sombrero". In 1990, they published the album "Nuevo pequeño catálogo de seres y estares". In 1993, they published the album "Astronomía razonable".Here, it was included the song: "Mar antiguo" --it was a great success--. If you want to watch the video of this song, please clic down here:
And these are the lyrics:
Dejé la estepa
cansado y aturdido;
pasto de la ansiedad
no hay otros mundos
pero si hay otros ojos,
aguas tranquilas,
en las que fondear.
Mar antiguo, madre salvaje,
de abrigo incierto que acuna el olivar.
Muge mi alma, confusa y triste;
ojos azules en los que naufragar.
Te he echado tanto de menos
patria pequeña y fugaz;
Mar antiguo, madre salvaje,
el vino y el cantar;
mientras quede un olivo en el olivar
y una vela latina en el mar.
Viejos dioses olvidados
mantenednos libres de todo mal.
Mar antiguo, dios salvaje
de la encina y del gris olivar.

Spanish singer: El último de la fila.Video and lyrics together
Tuesday, February 2, 2010
El último de la fila is a group created by Manolo García, after another group (Los Rápidos), created with Esteban Martín.
Los Rápidos published their first album in 1980.
After that, Manolo García met to Kimi Portet and both created the group Los Burros. This group was formed by: Jordi Vila, Antonio Fidel, Manolo García and Kimi Portet. But this group had no success and they decided change the project and so was born the new group El último de la fila.
Quickly, they win the Contest of Maocks of the Magazine "Rock Spezial", with the songs: "Cuando la pobreza entra por la puerta, el amor salta por la ventana". Then, they published one LP, with PDI (an Independence Producer). That happened in 1985.
But, their second album, "Enemigos de lo ajeno" (1986), had much more success. Here, they included the song "Aviones plateados".If you want to watch the video-clip, please clic down kere, on the triangle of Play:
And these are the lyrics:
Veo tu casa desde mi balcón...
chimeneas y tu ropa al sol.
Aviones plateados
rozando los tejados.
Vestido y en la cama
vigilo tu ventana;
miro libros de pintura que robé.
No tengo hambre. Hoy, no comeré.
Ropa sucia, cuadros que he "pintao",
discos viejos, "to" por ahí "tirao".
Barba de quince días...
no me levantaría.
Desorden en campaña.
Ahora sé que me engaña.
Credenciales de posesión, qué tontería...
estos celos me han "abrasao". No sé qué me creía.
Y tu carta me confundió.
Ahora lo entiendo.
Tu mirada me lo advirtió:
nunca mas vuelvo.
At the begining of this video, Manolo García wears a white shirt.
In 1987, El último de la fila publishe the album NUEVAS MEZCLAS and they included the song "Aviones plateados", but a new version, just an enhancer version.
