Hi everyone.
I'm bringing this back around to 'swimming pools' again as I have just been reading on the Thalassa Forum about pool opening times.  The notice board in the pool complex at Veranda just says (or said in July)  May - Sept.  Although many of us think is too short, I was at least assuming it meant the 'beginning of May to the end of September'.  Now, looking at the Thalassa forum I see that the outdoor pool there closes on 15th Sept.
As we will be arriving for our first stay on the 15th, we will both be bitterly disappointed if this is the case on Veranda.  Does anyone have any further, more up-to-date information?
Of copurse it may be because at Thalassa they have a full size heated indoor pool as an alternative, but as one of their residents points out, the temperatures will still be plenty warm enough to use an outdoor pool, especially for those of us who are used to 'colder climes'.
If there is to be a community meeting in September, this needs to be on the agenda I think, so that it can be sorted in plenty of time for next year.

Hi again Pauline,

From what I gather I do think they have every intention of following in the footsteps of the Thalassa times and the pool may very well close on the 15th unless we can do something about it.  As the chap said on the Thalassa thread, we think the pool will still be plenty warm enough in October even and it really isn't fair on all us people who are used to such cold that anything is warmer.

Do let me know if you hear anything else.

Helen

Even if we cant attend the first meeting we need to make sure that the issue of the swimming pool opening times is on the agenda. I am not sure how we go about  doing this, but I will contact Noreen and seek her advise.
I dont know how much notice we will receive about the meeting but I would hope to be able to attend, but does depend on date and work commitments.
I wonder what we can do to get a few more owners involved in the forum and find out their opinions? Maybe we can start a new thread asking all owners to introduce themselves? Or if anyone has any other suggestions?

Thats great Pauline if anyone else has contact details of other buyers maybe they could contact them and get them on to EOS. Then we would have a better idea of how people feel about swimming pool opening times. I see the same debate is happening on Thalassa forum.

After forwarding the email to Gemma from the Administrator stipulating that the pool times are down to KM I have also emailed Gemma twice asking her to get back to me to discuss a solution to this problem but she has not replied to even let me know shes looking into it.  If anyone else would like to try and get in touch with her also, it may make her realise that there are several of us who are concerned about this.

Regards
Helen

I have emailed Gema at KM and voiced my concerns around the opening times of the pool. I have also asked her have they any idea of a date for the meeting in sept, it would give us a chance to work around it if we have a fair bit of notice. I did mention in the email that I had been in contact with other buyers and copied the email Helen got from Ana and included it with my message, as I do think it is important that KM know that we are working as a group rather than as individuals.

I have also contacted two other buyers who had contacted me previousaly and asked them to get involved in the discussion, the more opinions we get the better for us all.

Thanks to all for their involvement.

Tricia

Hi All

We are Lizzie & Debs (completed July).  Reading with interest the comment regarding the pool opening times.  We completely agree that the times should be extended, a closure in September would be hopeless, it will still be warm.  We will add our support by all means possible, although we are unlikely to be there for the September meeting.

We will be out next week and hope to say a few hello's.

Best Wishes

Hi LIzzie and Debs, you are very welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase on Veranda.
Hopefully if we get enough support for extended opening times of the pool we will get it voted in. It would be an awful shame not to have it availabe in april,sept-oct even just to sit by the pool.
Although I have been reading the posts of Thalassa forum re cost of life guards!!!! they have 2 pools so is more costly. I  am not sure the size of pool on Veranda and if we will need a life guard or not, but it looks to be a major cost to the community, all of which has to be taken into consideration.

We will be out next week as well, might get a chance to say 'hi' in person, we are in block 5.

Best wishes
Tricia

Hi Colin & Gayle,

We are there early in October so the chances are that our kids who are 13 & 12 will have already dug the tunnel under the fence if the opening times don't change.  If that's the case I will send you a location plan of the tunnel to save digging another !!

Take Care

Helen & David

Congrats on your completion Sue, glad to hear all done and dusted.

And glad to see more owners are in agreement re pool and spa.

A number of us are going to email Gema in KM office with some questions about the management company and their contract. I think we should also email the Administrator of the management company and request that the issue of the opening times for pool and span be put on the agenda for the first community meeting, we dont want to be discussing the same issues this time next year. If anyone want email address for KM or administrator PM me.
Thanks to all for suggestions and advise.

Tricia

Hi everyone
Been watching the forum with interest.  Like everyone else we are concerned about the pool and spa opening times I was really looking forward to using the spa on my next visit, what is the point of a spa if its not open.  Spoke to Gemma about this but she said it is not down to her.  Me and my mum are coming out on 29th August we are in block 5 on the ground floor and I hope to try and speak to whoever about all of this.  One of the reasons we bought in this area was because of the beautiful all round weather and feel the pool should be open for longer please count on our support on this matter at any meetings or correspondance we can not be part of.

regards

Debbie Cooper

Hi Debbie, we are in block 5 also and will be there until 30th so might get a chance to say hello.
One of the group has received a reply from the administrator who says the issue of the pool and spa can certainly be put on the agenda for the first community meeting which she reckons will be in Sept. If you want email address you can ask Gema or if you can PM me I will forward you the email of administrator and you can register your opinion with her.
I dont think any of us expected to be even worring about an issue like this, we  had assumed that the facilities would be available all year round.
Anyway best of luck, hope you enjoy your trip out and hope to get to say 'Hi' in person.
Tricia
