The Comments |
I know i am a newbie and don't know any of my fellow members personnaly but what the hell is going on with this thread 50% of these postings as far as i can see should surely be being aired somewhere else. I think this forum and others similar are overall brilliant but i read many peoples questions being dismissed by being told the topic has already being discussed and to read previous threads. Do these people realise how much crap one has to read through to get to the genuine replys and postings.
Rant over ! hope i've not offended anybody.

Hello everyone
How about getting back to the topic?
We are pleased with our decision to buy at SADM, so far, in spite of occasional concerns about how things are progressing! When we visited the development on May 7 & 8, it reminded us why we had wanted to buy there in the first place. The location is stunning and the views are beautiful; the Azucena is a lovely, spacious property; the local town of Jumilla has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, and is a typical Spanish working town (even if an Irish pub has just opened there!) with a real sense of history. Finally, we met up with fellow buyers, who were nice, friendly people (and thanks again to Colin & Helena for driving us from our hotel to David & Linda's house), which reassured us that we are going to have some good neighbours when we move to SADM. It as good to see all the work going on too.
Regards.
Sue
PS I agree with Ken that there is so much information on the forum that it can be difficult to find out what you are looking for. Though I do enjoy browsing the site, it is easy to spend too much time doing so, instead of doing housework etc! Come to think of it, that isn't a bad thing! Justin is good though at giving you a link to the information you are looking for.

We have all had to read the crap as you put it
I am a true yorkshirewoman and don't take kindly to repeating myself on the forum
BUT i will send a pm with the info I have if requested
as Iam sure all who contibute regularly will.
So ask away and please don't be offended when you told to read the other posts
perhaps we have all heard or read the majority of questions a thousand times over

Hi all.
Thought this thread started a little slow but wow we have had some viewings now. Thanks for all the related comments and not one genuine negative.
Hoping to get some news on first golf coarse from my agent this week then i suppose i'm going to have to commit some serious coinage.
Hi GAL, sunny day at Brid today and no wind, shame i couldn't get to the Links, had to work today something to do with coinage mentioned earlier.

News is not good i'm afraid.
Recieved e-mail from my agent today forwarded from San Jose main office.
I confirm that the approximate date of completion of the first golf coarse will be by the year 2010.
Lost for words really.

Update for anyone who's interested.
After much discussion with agent and SJ who both assure me verbally that the first nine holes will be finished and playable by end of 2008. I have forwarded my stage payment to solicitor and instructed all parties that i will proceed with purchase after contract is amended so i will only complete on my property when the first nine holes is completed. And the completion date remains Dec 2008.
All parties tell me this is a feasable option so i await formal documentation.
Will keep you posted.
Ken.

Hi Ken
Thanks for the update. I assume this means that they expect the first 9 holes to be completed by the end of 2007? I'm not a golfer and not an expert on golf courses - I do know however that it takes a while after completion for the course to be playable. I would imagine that once people can see that something has been completed (even if only 9 holes) they are more likely to buy into the development.

Ken Once again many thanks for sharing the info you have to date. As the letter that we had, dated the same week that you were making your enquiries, differed from the information you were receiving, it has enabled David and I to form many questions that we would not otherwise have been able to do and which we have now put to SJ.
Thanks also to Roysrellies for raising some of the issues with regard to completion dates for both the houses and the golf courses on this and another Forum.

Update as promised.
E-mail from San Jose forwarded by agent.
is our intention to complete at list the first nine halls of the Golf Course by the beginning of 2009.We cannot garantie this date, but it is in our interest to finish the golf course at soon as possible, this will help us atract more clients in a future and will put up the prices of the villas.
This goes some way towards pleasing me but i feel i need a definate clause in my contract to state i will not complete until nine holes are playable. waiting for my solicitor to contact me regarding this. will keep you posted.
Ken.

Hi,
To all concerened this is suposed to be a five star development. the first fase has to be completed before moving on to the next stage.
Come and rent my mud hole, building site etc, no chance. put preasure on agents, solisitors etc, it needs to be habitable with the facilities or no one will come.
first phase with golf course , shops etc. hold back your money or ask for guarantees.
I am investing, but let us all have a voice.

No point in whinning Recardo . You were obviously in it to make money and you knew the gamble.
When my villa is built and licence of habitation obtained i will move in whether the golf course is finished or not.

Hi Taxiparrot,
Did you missread my message? SADM is going to be the next best think to sliced bread. I am investing because I NEED to get ot of the UK in a couple of years. It's so bad now i'm frightend to step out the door because the government will fine me for something. They say there is a speed camera now that takes a picture of you face so you cannot avoid the fine. If you live in Croydon and see a driver with a full face mask that's probably me!
I have had a lot of people personaly e-mail me for my thoughts on SADM, and I have got back to them giving positive vibes (hope they will log on and back me up).
The developement WILL make money, the house I now live in has trippled in price in 12 years. I did not buy it for that reason, I bought it so the family and I would have a better quality of life. If the prices on SADM goes up, great logicaly it has to over time.
I want to live there and i'm not winning, better hope you have me for a neighbour because if something is not right I kick up a stink. That is what everyone should be doing now.
Had to see my accountant last week and mentioned Spain, he said he was investing on another golf site. I told him about SADAM and he pulled out of the other place and is now buying a villa at SADM.
To all the people who are humming and harring you have to decide for yourself, but MY oppion is go for it, it is a no brainer.

Steve here , not sure what winning is but i for one agree with Recardo , when i needed advice about SADM quite a few people pointed me in the right direction and i am in the process of buying on this development. Some times it is best to sit back and see what happens other times you need to take action. Being new to the over seas property scean i will sit back for a while but if the time comes to take action i will be ready to voice my concerns like every one has the right too. We are all in the same boat so beating each other isnt going to help anyone or get anything done quicker. Lets look forward to what should be a great location to live , rent or what every people decide to do.

Hi steve
thanks for the back up. To everyone else have you listened to Justins interview?
If you have any doubts about Spain, listen to the man he is like me, cannot lose in a good development.
For those of you who have invested 2-3 years ago, kick up a stink if things are not perfect, if you dont it will cost more to put it right later. When phase one is done the golf course must be there. Together we have a voice and control so lets stick together and make SADAM the place it should be!
