Hi just got back from Corvera and Lisa is bang on .Same old but not worried as am sure all is in order. On asking ,Corvera has sold as many properties if not more than Roda and started a year later. This is not derogatory to Roda as it has its positive side much the same as Corvera, just a matter of choice.

hi
when did you e -mail them all, it would appear from the lack of any response from the letters we sent and your e -mail, that once again we are being treated poorly by calidona, i am begining to wonder what sort of a company we are dealing with, they appear to value their clients interests low in their priorities.
i do not really know what more we can do to gain any further information regarding progress etc if they are not willing to reply to our correspondence.
my agent has also been enquiring on our behalf and the reply to him is that they are due to start sept / oct, i suppose we will have to hold tight and see if this turns out to be correct.

Hi all
The only person at Calidona who appears to be responding to any emails is Rosa Barreiro the Sales Coordinator (although my email went to her via MRI), for anyone who would like to contact her, Rosa's email address is rbarreiro@corveragolf.com and tel. no. is 0034 968 380 910, you can see her response to my email below (or possibly now due to the activity on this thread on a previous page), but basically she says that its the backlog at the townhall. Personally I suspect construction will begin in the next month, although I certainly agree Calidona need to do some serious work on their customer relations.

We've just sent off the second instalment, don't believe the contract has any leeway anyway, but e-mailed solicitor over there who is independant, he will be contacting urban town hall in murcia to confirm what is actually happening.
We were due for completion in March 2009 on 3rd phase so feel that builder has scope to catch up once things get underway. No comfort to fellow posters who are on phase 1 & 2 but delays are an integral part of any significant development world wide. We think its going to be a winner with great infrastructure being input to immediate area. Just hope the pressing doesnt lead to corners being cut in quality and workmanship. 1st instalment Bank Guarantee went to solicitor prompt after pay last time, expect solicitor to receive cover for this payment also, its backed by AAA Spanish Bank so dont feel any real concerns about developer. Keep the nerve.

Hi Pat,
I don't think that requesting information should be any excuse or cause to cut corners.
Many of us were under the impression we would have our properties by now.
I also believe Corvera is fantastic, its just frustrating when you're so far away and can't drop by to check up on progress. I will be going over in Jan, but meanwhile I'll be watching this forum, as it is my only source of information.

Hi All,
Just got an e-mail from Abigail Hill, she writes:
"I write in response to your request for information. Unfortunately there is a delay in the above-ground construction (i.e. the construction of the properties themselves) but currently, the roads, underground drainage and electrical system are being installed in the resort and we are confident that the above ground construction will start on both Phases 1 & 2 by October this year if not in September.
The delay in starting the construction has unfortunately been due to a hold up with paperwork. We have all licenses in place to start the construction of phases 1 & 2 but have simply been awaiting the final stamp to be given on this license. Summer in Spain is a very difficult time when it comes to paperwork as government services such as the local Town Halls have very limited staff and working hours throughout the Summer months making everything move more slowly.
However, as I previously mentioned, with the return to normal working hours in September we expect to receive the final stamp shortly. All clients will receive a letter from our developers Calidona shortly to inform of the building situation in more detail."
I'm happy to sit tight for the moment.
Gina

Hi Dave,
When I was at Corvera I spoke with her, she is one of the Sales Reps on site. While I was over I found her to be very helpful and efficient, she certainly seemed to know her stuff, and was able to answer all of my questions at the time.

I am afraid my experience has been that just because someone is nice to you does not necessarily mean that they are competent or trustworthy. I have had dealings with Rosa and have not been impressed - anyone who owns a ground floor property and has an amendment to their contract to include 'exclusive use of the garden' may not know of my efforts to get this clause inserted. Part of the fallout from this episode was a distinct frosting in relations with Rosa and Calidonia. In fact I would be not surprised if a letter detailing the start of construction was not sent to my home address - but then I am lucky in that I have the means to address this sort of problem if it occurs. Are we really that desperate - we celebrate the fact that we have been spoken to in a decent manner as paying customers!
There is a reason why the UK is a successful industrial nation with an economy not reliant on tourism - its called integrity, consumer laws and a work ethic. Spain might like to take notice. Please don't quote maniana as an excuse - its been done often enough.

I agree, I was told in June Calidona was 'just waiting on a stamp from the town hall'. Why no stamp 3 months later? Perhaps Abigail or someone else at Calidona can answer this. This message was last edited by jdy on 9/13/2007.

Hi all,
I agreed to let you know the latest on my return from my visit to Corvera. I spoke again to Pablo and basically he reiterated what has been stated recently on this thread. May be I'm naive and not a great judge of character but I felt that he genuinely believed that the final step of stamping the building license was imminent and that work could then start in ernest. There had been a meeting with Murcia town hall the previous week which had been very positive.
He felt that the challenge of then starting and delivering phase 1 and 2 was achievable within 18 months i.e. Spring and Summer with phase 3 commencing during the Winter. This seemed logistically high risk be he felt it was doable and that good quality contractors were in place who could deliver.
He confirmed that Calidona would be contacting all buyers shortly with an update once the green light was given. Sme more ariel shots would then be taken to show the infrastructural work undertaken so far.
One point to note is that although the forum is not particularly active there seems to be a similar issue on the Polaris Terezas de la Torre proposed complex which has also hit a delay re building license. Whether this evidences the log jam at the Town Hall or the relutance of the Murcia regime to allow further developments I am not sure.

Hi all, just received a letter from Calidona stating that Corverians will be offered a 10% discount on green-fees at Roda until the deeds of your property are registered. You apply by either completing a form included with the letter or through a web address. Your identity card can then be collected in person upon presentation of passport etc. at the Roda Golf Course Club House.

Yes, I got the same letter. And my response - WOW. Now I can really afford to splash it out at Rhoda. You know these guys at Calidonia are so nice. Reminds me of the failed cook book title : Cooking with Condiments - An Apartment Dweller's Guide to Making Something Out of Nothing.

Hi Gina, seems as though it is valid upon registration. The web address application form is in Spanish, but if you look at the one enclosed with the letter it is in English, so should not be too difficult to complete electronically. I imagine that once they have received that you can collect your identity card when visiting.
Anita.
