Hi all

Just to add, I sent the following email off

I have purchased two apartments on Corvera Golf.  Could you please let me know when you expect the golf course to be completed in relation to the completion of Phase 1 & 2 ( eg 3 months after the completion of phase 1 & 2).

and had the following reply from Pablo

At this moment we're waiting for the environmental impact permission and we expect to start with the construction of the golf course early next year. We don't have a date for the completion of the course but we intend to open it circa completion of phases 1 & 2. As you know both phases are in the middle of the course and for that reason we need to complete these two areas before.

Hi

I forgot to mention that the email Pablo  below was sent to me today. So if Pablo is correct (is this the official information) there is no specific date for the completion of the golf course. The lack of a specific date for the completion of the course  may be due to them waiting for the environmental impact permission (hopefully this will not take long). At any rate the golf course should be finished shortly after the completion of phase 1 & 2, which would make sense ( phase 1&2 need to be completed first due to their 'island nature'). This reinforces what difi and Anita has said. I can also understand why there is conflicting information as there is a vacuum of 'official' information coming from Calidona management,( something I still can't understand) there appears to be at times different information from different people at Calidona lower down the management chain.

I went over to Roda & Corvera in August with my dad, as we have bought on both.

I was told that the enviromental impact study had been completed and was fine? Why is this being used as another hurdle now?

I hope that this turns out to be a mistake on Pablo's behalf?

I'm feeling much more positive about the development, but It seems a little strange to have an envronmental impact report so late in the day, surely this should have been done right at the beginning before permission was granted for any work to commence. I'm sure it wont happen but what if the report says the golf course would have too large an enviriomental impact on the area, they dont build one? As I said before  I'm sure this wont happen (as permission for ground works has already been given) and the development will be a great success, but it might highlight another flaw in the contract, does the contract state that a golf course has to be built? ( I certainly do not think its says when). Apart from anything else I'm sure Calidona will ensure the course will be built for their own reputation sake and that it will be completed  shortly after  phase 1 & 2.

Also I feel Pablo and the others who we are in contact with are doing the best that they can, and any confusion is likely to be from a lack of clear communication from their own management.

Hi Kev / All,

I am absolutely positive that Corvera will be built to the spec that we all wish and were sold on and the golf course will be amazing.

Calidona have delivered on Roda and i'm sure they will here. It's all about dates for me, the sooner they get started in earnest the better.

I am just wondering why the enviromental impact study has reared its head again, i thought this was but to bed a while ago, unless another one is now needed?

Have a read at this earlier post from my dad in August:-

"Spoke to Corvera this morning! They say the environmental impact study for constucting a golf course has been completed and there are no detrimental results which impact on the construction of it. This does not coincide with the email mentioned earlier. Calidona are sending out mixed messages.

They repeated September/October for the issuing./stamping of the last license and an explanatory letter  being sent to purchasers end of September."

Hi

I've just emailed Rosa and here's the reply.

I think there has been a misunderstanding regarding the function of the environmental impact report . This report is a guideline which we must follow in order to affect the environment as least as possible. The golf course is due to start next year once these guidelines have been revised and logistics permit us to start.
regards
Rosa
I would just like to add that there is often a misunderstanding , but this is mainly due to a lack of information and explanation from Corvera. So it sounds like they may have the initial report but for some reason it needs to be revised.

which means once again, no one knows!! it is all down to the local gvt who could change their mind as we all could have been taken for ride ( by our solicitors for not protecting us) - remember they are all in business to make as much $ as poss --- for those that dont know spain well, it is a tad corrupt - dont let any one fool you. the reason why they dont give clear dates is cos they dont know, and wont put anything in writing that could compromise them re the bank guarentees. fingers crossed!

Hi all,

got the letter today from the President, it sounds very positive, and just what was needed at this time. While I am a little disappointed to see the completion date has been pushed out again at least we have been given a date, which is that construction of homes is to start in November with completion aiming for April/May '09. It is also good to see that we will be getting updates every two months.

Things seem to be moving at last, fingers crossed

Hi,

We've also received our "presidential" letter.  We have written back to ask if he can also give us information about completion of the golf course.  Will post details of any response.

Hi all,

I've just been reading the threads for Corvera and can't believe that they have not started yet!. We bought at Roda in Dec '05 with a completion date of June '07 (phase 3b). The latest date we have been given is June '08 a year behind schedule!. At the time we looked at Corvera but chose Roda as we want to be able to walk to the beach / shops etc.  I can't remember the date we were given for Corvera but from memory I think it was Dec '07 so I'm not surprised that you are all very annoyed. Hopefully, they will start soon and I'm sure it will be worth the wait. If it's any consolation we found Calidona great as every few months they send out progress reports to us which is very exciting. I'm sure they are very embarrassed with the delays at Corvera but no doubt once they start they will keep you all very well informed with updates.

We decided not to get annoyed with our year delay and rent from phase 1 & 2 . In some ways we are glad as it gives us the opportunity to look at decor in the various apartments we have rented and ensures we won't make similar mistakes!.

Best of luck!

Why are we all waiting sooooooooooo long for this project to get started. There seems to be one excuse after another. I am really begining to doubt that anything will be build. Does anyone else feel like this or should we all just sit back and watch our hard earned cash go down the pan.

I have invested my life savings in this and don't want to loose everything!

Well I think since we have all (or mostly all) received the letter officially from Corvera this is the time to finally feel optimistic. Although very overdue, I feel the content of the letter would not have been sent out if they didn't have confidence with the outlook of the development progress. Look on the grand scheme of things, urbanisation works are nearly complete for phase 1&2, building works contracts have been awarded and preliminary works have started. Like Roda, as soon as they started building the homes I was surprised how rapidly the developement took shape. Roll on March/April 2009.

can anyone tell me if this is the official letter of commencement we have been waiting for, or is it just a courtious letter to keep us quite, i know that from recieving the official dated letter, they have to complete within 18 months, as this letter does not include actual dates i presume we will be sent another letter nearer commencement date   ?

Hi CRG

It might be worth emailing Rosa Barreiro email address rbarreiro@corveragolf.com, I've had some recent success with her responding to my emails. The last couple of emails I sent her, I got the replys the same day, whether you get the information you're after might be another thing.
