Galgos del Sol (Murcia) makes saving galgos in Spain a reality!

Would you like to sponsor a euro or two towards milk for The Candy Bar Club? There are TEN pups belonging to Candy. They would very much appreciate it, it costs 59€ a tub!

Candy couldn't be operated yesterday, it was likely she would haemorrhage. There is an underlying problem showing in her blood work and first the hospital needs to find out what that is.

Pumpkin's family all have upset tums, they've been to the vets, it's nothing serious & they're now on antibiotics & a chicken & rice diet. They're growing so fast.

Mum & 9 pups arrive at GdS.

GdS have so many puppies now, with the last two lots needing the special expensive puppy food, Royal Canine. Please help them give these pups the best start by donating for their food. ANOTHER SUPERB IF TIRING RESCUE

Last night Tina & volunteers were out trying to rescue yet more Galgos well into the night!

  on the previous three puppies rescued, Neo, Niobe and Trinity,

 512 dogs names are now on the memorial board for the new centre, that means sponsors are paying for a new billboard!

Meet Neo, Niobe and Trinity (one male and two females). All three are now clean of fleas and ticks but have terrible worms. They are coming home with us with medications and look like they will be ok. They are adorable.

Yesterday:

Tina posted late evening on the Galgos del Sol Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Galgos-del-Sol/175718192447988  "just had news there are dead Galgos being eaten by live galgos behind some villas locally. The police are already there and rumour has it the live Galgos will be taken away and sacrificed.... We are trying to get more info...."

Then later she posted..
"Update. Police are still there. Tomorrow they will let us know if we can take the remaining 7 that are alive. There are four babies in there and 3 adults literally in their bones we've been told. More news tomorrow ....."

Even later "The police wanted me to go NOW but I'm alone with sleeping kids !! Police have agreed 10am in the morning and we will take all seven. No idea where to put them yet. please consider donating to galgosdelsol@hotmail.com Thanks in advance..... So frustrated I can't go now"

Then at 10am today...

The 16 Dog a Day Initiative is a commemoration and celebration of loved dogs -- living or passed. The graphic and message above will be used for a permanent wall installation in the new centre.

Additionally, when we reach 500 names, two supporters will sponsor a billboard.

So far there have been 352 dogs names added to the wall with more coming in daily.

Donate 16 euros for each dog's name and the money goes to the new centre.
