Where's Our Pool ???

            Have a look at the photos tab and you will see how things are going. There will not be much work done on the site during August because of the heat. The last I heard was we might be lucky to use be able to use it by October of this year but that really depends on how much money Taray want to throw at it. It's painfully slow but hopefully we will get there soon. Just hang in there like the rest of us.

does anyone know the proceedure for the use of the pool for phase 1 owners?

ie. where is the pool? where do you get these passes? how do you use them?

any relevant info appreciated

Sean - You collect the passes for the pool from the Sales Office which is on the site.  Each property is allowed 4 passes - in my case I ordered them on the Friday and they were there on the Monday.  There is always someone in the office around 12:30 ish.

The pool is opposite the village school on Manzana 9.  There are two lifeguards on duty and you show your passes as you go in.  At first they used to hold onto the passes until you left, but the last few times we used the pool they just looked at them on the way in.

Ive seen roadkill move faster!

We are back out in Spain for the first time since March. Yes progress but ..................................  However today they have started to tile the pool. Let us hope that they have applied waterproof adhesive first time. Taray are so vague when you ask them about completion. Sales office, do not want to talk about it. Customer services say  there is no funding problem but it will not be before the end of October.

No work has been done inside for 'first fixing ' etc but wall has been channelled in some areas for pipes and cables. I assume there are no pool pumps or filters in yet.

WE continue to waite

We spoke with one of the presidents yesterday and he told us that at the last monthly meeting with Taray they told them there was no issue with money and that after all the money that as so far been spend on the pool area they were not going to pull out now. They said the pool should be completed by Christmas and that the tileing will be started soon and as the last message said they have started today. The president as also promised to put a message on here after each monthly meeting with Taray. Hope this helps all you in the UK.

Can one of the presidents ask if there is no issue with money why have they dramatically cut down the workforce? Last week they were down to one man on the leisure area . If they wanted it finished by now they could but clearly a decision has been made not to. Why do they want to delay it? If there is money issues not in a million years will they be publicising it as as far as im aware they still have around 24 apartments to sell and quite a few houses. I think  and its only my opinion that they want to sell more properties before throwing more money into the leisure area. No doubt it will be completed eventually by the time space cars are ready for purchase but it all comes down to money in the end. 23% unemployment here, i'm sure there are builders chomping at the bit to get some work so the old "its summer months" chestnut doesn't wash! On a positive note its better to have one man than no men and at least its going forward and of course we have phase 2 pool for now which is lovely!

We were told after xmas for completion.

We have just been told by a VICE-President that everything will be finished by the end of November. The Sports complex will then be run by Taray who will issue four passes to each phase one property that will allow them 50% reduction on their activity. No decision yet as to how long these passes will last.

About three months ago they put the running of the bar and restaurant out to tender. While they had enquires from both Spanish and English operators, However  I understood that a 'Scottish gentleman' had been awarded the opportunity to run the bar and create a social enviroment but no names were available.

All this could happen but at the end of the day, it has to be approved and adopted by the Local Mayor. *In the mean time they are continuing to tile the pool and no doubt we will have to wait until after the holiday season before we see any real progreess

November????? With one man working (at a stretch three) we will be lucky if its done for January as we were told. The pool might be finished by November but its in the middle of a building site. I am going past it 5 times or more a day..... very little movement. Extremely slow. The only way that will be done for November is if they get loads of men back on the job. I think if people get there hopes up for November there will be alot of grumpy people on site. I think Taray are delaying it.  Maybe they want to delay the running of the leisure area for as long as they can. Perhaps they need to sell more properties to continue. The site has been started to please us and the council but now its on a go slow. I just wish there was some honesty and integrity about it all. Taray have said November....... same old same old.

One worker on site?

The pool will be finished in November? Its a building site.

Well we could always sunbathe on our pool loungers with Billy no mates wheeling his wheelbarrow between us all.

The 2 pools filter equipment was delivered today along with what looks like a load of salt or chlorine.

They have been lowered into the underground chambers.

Not too much to get excited about I know but at least it's a little more progress.

To be honest with you I'm amazed there's even anybody on site as normally the builders don't work at all in August!!!!!

The odd man continues to turn up along with a little more equipment but progress is slow.

Still no sign of 'first fixings' of any utilities inside the building.

 I agree with you that progress is slow but at least the pool engineer is here and a lorry load of filter equipment turned up today.

Once the main pipes to the pools are connected then I think you can say the pool is nearly ready but until the site is landscaped properly I don't there's any chance of us get near the pool.

One man is better than none although he must be a tough old bugger working in this heat.

I don't think there will be any real progress until September at the earliest.

 Just to update you all, it looks like all the plumbing work has been done in both pools.

The lights were wired in today.

A very large compressor and 8 pallets of cement were delivered to the site so I think they will start spraying

the outside of the buildings hopefully very soon. 

It's slow but at least some work is being carried out during the normal August shutdown.

More deliveries were made this morning so hopefully things will start moving in a day or two which will be the start of August when things in Spain start up again.

More rolls of bitumen were delivered this morning so it looks like the sealing of the roof is moving on nicely.
