We haven't been on the forum for a while so like others we were completely gob smacked when we started reading that the driving range wasn't going to be built.
The leisure area as a whole as it was planned when we purchased was one of the reasons we chose San Cayetano so we would be extremely disappointed if it didn't go ahead as planned
As other people have commented there are plenty of play areas etc near the site, but currently no sports facilities for adults. Our family & friends certainly wouldn't have driven to San Javier to use a driving range when they visit us, but will use it if it is within walking distance, along with the pool, tennis courts etc & everything that was promised when we purchased. Also it will be a good social area to meet other people living nearby.
Hopefully it sounds like this issue has been resolved
Thank you Harry & Dave for keeping us updated as we certainly haven't had any communication from our President regarding this

I like San Sayetano and bought in early 2006 and then it was a football and two tennis courts and a children friendly gardens around the Urb.
This question set at the presidents meet was just that,. some people need to think before they shout the Urb may like some thing better that they are being given
Why do you think I should not have a voice in what is built on the pool area? You buy a property and your children cannot play out side of it so tell me where they go to play.?
The children are our future they will be looking after this Urb when we are not here.
This area for the pool is owned by the hole of San Cayetano not the Ex northen europen people please don't forget this.
Please think there are some people that love to ster think up with out any consideration for the rest of us they should get a life.

Please tell or show me the play areas for the children I have not seen any if you consider the road as a normal play area for children why.
Why do we have to live in a area just so you and your friends can play golf when on holiday these children live here all the year around.

Deaps - The reason we chose San Cayetano was because of its close proximity to golf courses and, of course, the lovely Mar Menor.
Also the package offered, which has been three long years coming, included the driving range. Did you not have the same offer when you bought? Incidentally there is a childrens' play area right near my quad but I hardly ever see any children playing there. I certainly have no objection to children having plenty of play areas - I am, after all, a mother and grandmother! But we should still expect to have the facilities offered as terms of our original purchase.

If changes to the pool area are being put to Taray then surely everyone should have a voice as to what these changes are and not just the presidents. They were not elected to be a govenment over us but just as a voice for everyone living in San Cayetano so if changes are being consided a meeting of all the residents should be called and a vote taken on any ideas put forward and this vote should include owner in England and any other country in which owners live.

You are not getting it,
It was put to Taray could a change be made,
If so what could it be.
Only then it would be sent out to all the owners on the Urb and the local people in the village you seam to not want any one who is not from Manzana 1 to 6 to be considered this is owned by the town hall not us.

why was a change put to taray in the first place, as we have been waiting for three years for the pool etc i have seen approx 6 parks in the village of san cayetano one on calle nectarina one on lemon and one behind the rose and thistle and one by the church/furniture shop and also others round the village. the park on calle nectarina is very large and plenty of room for kids to play in

I can't believe all this bickering regarding the facilities it wasn't that long ago we didn't think we would be getting anything never mind discussing golf driving range or play area, we should be glad its finally coming together, if we carry on like this Taray will have another excuse to down tools, didn't we all buy our properties because we liked the plan that was in place, now all of a sudden, we are told to buy a retirement home if we don't like it, I have bought my property to eventually retire, and yes pass on o my own family, we are not golfers but feel the plan caters for everyone.

Jean and Chris, Many thanks for the photo update. Really made my day! At long last things are really on the move which is great! For the people still in the UK it is very much appreciated to be kept in the picture. Can't wait to get over there at the end of June!!

Problem is the man who drives the fork lift truck beats the cement silos with a hammer each morning presumably to make sure the powder flows freely. If you like the anvil chorus at 7.30 each morning fine. If not . . . . . .

.............in fact, progress is so good that the perimeter wall of the main pool has gone up from the pool floor up to ground level. You can now only see the tops of the hard hats of the men working in the bottom.

Walked the dog this morning and cant believe the progress in 24hours. The walls of the main pool are now up to ground level and again today there are lots of men on site some working on the interior of the main building and some on the pool and yet more working on the perimeter wall. Maybe the end of June is not so pie in the sky for finishing the pool

The original hoped for date - the end of June - has just been moved to mid July. Having had our regular monthly meeting with Taray today, we were invited up on to the site to take a look at the progress and plans for the whole area. Certainly looks like it is going to be really good. Inside and outside cafeteria areas, pitch and putt, petanca courts, golf driving range etc. The inside of the main buildings are coming along well with plenty of facilties being provided to enjoy the finished product. Our next meeting is now planned for the end of June when (we're told) the pool itself should be completed.
At the mid-July point, Taray should also be able to finally hand over the urbanisation to the local council, so our other questons regarding the infrastructure should be dealt with at that point, though we had the opportunity to present those questions to the mayor of San Cayetano this lunchtime as well.
All seems to be progressing well and assurances of other outstanding works promised once the pool has been sorted out.
