Getting more popular all the time Barry. I think most folk would havenurtured the idea that 'braving the elements' was something they were leaving behind in the UK & colder climes elswhere.
Well done to Andrew with 37, but even more congrat's to Dave with 32 on the back nine alone. What a recovery !!
Regards,

thirty two points on the back nine, never ever heard of that in my life, what did he do - 8 holes x 4 points and a 'ding' ? A couple of holes in one or something ?. I hope match & handicap have rewarded Dave with well with a new handicap !!! He must have quite a 'story' to tell !

Obviously no golfers replying. Dave Storey beat Dave Lloyd by having a better back nine score.
Didn't expect any more from Ant & Andy!

Hi all
I'm coming out on April 12th without wife so fancy having a batter at this while I'm there. Whats the procedure for signing up? I play of 16 (allegedly ) but will be lucky if I play to 24 on this course.
If anyone else is out around 12th to 22nd and fancies a round on any other days as I'm without my wife i should have plenty of free time! let me know if you fancy hooking up.
Cheers
Phil

Dave Lloyd and Graham White arranged our first away day yesterday.
It was a great success with 17 players (inc 8 ladies) taking the 30 minute trip to Corvera Golf & Country club.
For a green fee of only 15E we got a free pull trolley and 18 holes of very pleasant golf.
The course has much maturing to do yet but with preferred lies on the fairways it was very enjoyable. With little rough and flat greens it was a pleasant change from the monster at Condado.
It has a superb practice area with mats on the driving range and modern under cover driving bays.
The development looked even quieter than Condado with no sign of residents.
The manager made us very welcome and couldn't do enough for us (Polaris take note). He came round the course with food and drinks, asking if we were enjoying it and after the game put a BBQ on in the car park outside their prefabricated bar.
It was great sitting in the sun with a beer and food with good company (from England, Ireland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden).
What a change in customer service - we have been offered the same deal until the end of May.
Of course I asked if prices went down in summer and what were the twilight prices?
At that price you can't beat it so suggest you give it a try.
Barry & Sue

Not many residents playing (maybe a dozen) but had about 100 different players in 7 weeks.
Just let me know when you want to play and give me your handicap. No charge to join, charge 2E to play all money paid back out. Then you will be added to players list which will be found at http://cdagolf.wordpress.com/results// . You can find your updated society handicap there.
Bandits are welcome but as handicap secretary I assure you they will be unmasked for the next game!

Results from Friday 2nd April
We had a texas scramble for a change this week with 8 teams of 4. Unfotunately 2 players failed to turn up spoiling the game for their teams.
However there were some great scores
1st
Scott McKatchen, Colin Lloyd, Lynda Lloyd, Dave Shepherd 60.2
2nd
Paul Harrington, Fred Harrington, Graham White, Barry Barker 61.1
Next week we have reserved 10 times from 12.00 and the format will be 4 ball better ball.
Choose your own partner and come down to the Clover at 7pm on Wednesday to put your own name down on the starting sheet. First there will get the best times.
If you cannot be there email me and I will put you down. If you have no partner we will find you one.
Start times and pairings will be in the golf shop by lunchtime Thursday.
Course has now greened up, rough has been cut down and it is looking fantastic.
Barry
