Excelent - The important thing to remember here is that we are only asking for the course to be properly maintained and to ensure its long term future. It is only reasonable to request this of a Management company and to simply state they are not concermed with the aestetics is just not acceptable and indicates they have no real interest in it for the resort. If this is the case then why ar ethey managing it now - are they simply inetersted in milking it and running into the ground. I look forward to hearing what Nicklaus Golf thik!!!
If enough get behing this then they will either fix it or jump ship and another company will take over and manage the course correctly.

If we can maintain the pressure then thatt is the best way and if we get no response or reply then we simply turn the pressure up to force their hand. If they think we will go away then they may not do anything for a while but as soon as the penny drops and they realise that will not happen we will know their true intentions/motives. I wish I was onsite more often to be able to push this but hopefully those who are will help to progress this instead of us having to wait for updates which just dont materialise.

The worst thing we can do right now is to invite Jack Nicklaus Golf Corporation into the situation.
We will immediately lose the designation as "Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf". Really bad for the resort !!!!
Paramount is on its "Death-Bed" (we will know by the end of April)…..If it is true what I read about "Al Kasar"
on this forum that it is "Mafia-infested" then Al Kasar is on its "Death-Bed"……if we lose "Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf" our golf course is on its "Death-Bed"…if all of the above happens then the the Community of Condado de Alhama
is on its "Death-Bed".
I have no experience dealing with corporations but if several of you out there have that experience…please get together
and try to convince IRM of the "gains and loses" of not investing in this fine Golf Course we have here…..
Hope there is a lot of you out there with the experience and willingness to spend the time and effort required for this.
Still hopeful !

First of all - don't blame Nnicklaus who sold rights to use his name (like paramount). He has nothing to do with the course. Also our administrators Mileniun also have no control over the course. It is owned by (and run) by the consortium of banks (IRM) who were given the courses by Polaris in lieu of debts. IRM have now dispensed with a professional golf management company (Global Golf) and decided to run the operation themselves. Banks are always about numbers - profits, turnover, costs and that is what they are doing. At present the state of the course is a result of that.

Luke says he has only had one complaint about membership issues, and that we only have 7 members! (wrong!).
I will update information about the course monthly through the summer, and see if things improve. I do not blame the greenkeepers who who work very hard (as always) but 10 of them cannot be everywhere. Cutting greens, fairways, tees and raking bunkers leaves them little time for any remedial work. It has been very noticable that greenkeepers have been scarce over the winter - when Alejandro was here they were everywhere, 3 in one bunker, another cutting fairways, one on the greens etc. That was just the view from my apartment.
I will try to give a balanced view - pictures of work being done, improvements, plannned work etc.

Response from IRM. Only hope that a solution to the lake aesthetics is actually being looked at as stated in the response.
First of all I would like to say thank you for your comments. We really appreciate your opinion and we encourage you to keep on sending your ideas and comments to improve the level of our service.
Regarding the maintenance condition of the golf course we are working hard to keep the level at its best; I can inform you that this year has been more humid than previous ones, so the festuca rough has germinated all its seeds and for this reason the condition is much better than in the past.
Native areas have been treated continuously and they are completely clean. This year we have been able to keep the greens at 2,8 mm during the winter period, and the density of the tees after the sowing is also at its best in comparison with previous years.
As you know water is a scarce commodity in the Murcia Region; on Alhama Golf in particular we have enough water resources to irrigate the golf course, but we haven´t got enough resources to fill all the existing lakes for ornamental use. We know that this is a very important issue for the golf course, and we are studying different technical alternatives to solve this situation but we haven´t found an efficient solution yet. We are very confident that we will find a solution in the very near future.
