Yes, it would be good if more folk made postings on this site, but like me, they're probably fed up with all the inane and negative comments that seem to have become the norm. Hopefully, once we all have our Habitation Certificates and owners have paid their debts, or at least start paying towards the running costs, it can become a useful information site between us all. I really hope so.

Whilst I agree with your comments in the main, it'ss a shame that because of the folk on here who want to discuss community fees exclusively, that nothing else is being addressed.
It's really quite simple, just ignore any mention of community fees whilst the other numerous topics are being discussed and those who are ignored will just be ignored - I'd soon get sick if every post I made were ignored and I'm sure most others would - and lets be honest if they don't get sick and keep posting despite being blanked what's it really matter, everything else gets addressed anyway.

I gave up on this site due to the mega negativity and pointless speculation, the dissing of people who were pushed into responsibility that they did neither want nor desire by others who look from afar. Anyone who has an overseas property who think that they can live without paying community charges whether in turkey, Ireland or Spain is deluding themselves. Taxes, utility bills etc have to be paid regardless of where your property is. You cannot live in isolation from the community that you bought into. If you bought another property in England you would be hit by exactly the same but at more cost. One day it will be completed then there will be truly nothing for people to complain about!

leomack,
You are absolutely 100% right. I feel exactly the same way. Just back after a very enjoyable few weeks. Everything is looking much better and work continues to progress.

I didnt receive one because i did a repayment deal with Vivendoo recently, im gradually paying it off. My lawyer told me that it is pointless tackling the issue individually, unless they and Vivendoo can come to some kind of negotiation (possible but unlikely) or you attach yourself to the group who have clubbed together and are using one lawyer as a whole to negotiate aparently ( i dont know names sorry). Failing that, you could ignore it and when you come to sell, just drop your asking price by what you owe because a buyer will be notified by administrators of any unpaid community fees etc.
Lawyer also told me the lack of certificates dont actually mean owners shouldnt pay back dated fees. Certs are a separate issue handled by the mayor of Elche. If our 'committee' (is it legal, who knows) voted for backpayment and meters, then we all have to adhere to it, apparently, but good luck with any challenges.
Warning on non payment after the Certs have been granted btw - the committee can put a charge on your property im also told.

Am I right in thinking that San Jose have now completed the outstanding infrastructure works requested by the town hall and that its now a waiting game (as far as the certs are concerned) whilst the town hall rubber stamp things?
If so the traditional down tools for the month of August is about to happen so anything this side of Septemeber/October is unlikely.
I am hearing there's a lot of interest in the site from new buyers, talking about the apartments being finished by SJ, but virtually all the interest is on hold until the certs are issued.

Has anyone had an email from Leo Mac?
The sender (or Leo) was in some sort of trouble in Madrid lossing his wallet etc. He need some money to pay the hotel bill as his/their passport were being held till money was payed over.
His email address were on the email, but this could have been taken from one of the emails we all get from a well intended multi email.
Which is why its always a good idea to 'Bcc' that use the 'To' box when sending to several people. This message was last edited by 9Palms on 06/08/2012.

I'm sure it’s the case as the grammar wasn't quite right and for Leo it didn't make sense.
I understand that a few people have had there yahoo email address's hijacked.
Strange that they chose Madrid? This message was last edited by 9Palms on 07/08/2012.

I'll try this one again:
Am I right in thinking that San Jose have now completed the outstanding infrastructure works requested by the town hall and that its now a waiting game (as far as the certs are concerned) whilst the town hall rubber stamp things?
If anyone knows whether this is the case I'd be grateful for confirmation (or not as the case may be).
Thanks.

Hi Burundi, You are right in assuming that. There is a new mayor in Elche and she wants the site sorting out ASAP. Of course the progress is halted for the long summer holiday but the word on the street was that maybe, just maybe September for habitation certificates which you and I know probably means December . There may be the issue of people who have extended or increased the footprint of their properties paying a penalty. It's a guessing game but hopefully by 2013 all will be legal! Leomac :-)
