Ref; Carvajal Boulevard could begin during the month of February.
I believed it may be a mirage but a digger has been active in the area over the last two days 29/02/12 - 01/03/12 and starting to clear the area, near the station.
There is work on going, being carried out on the station platform, over the last few weeks, with relaying cables and replacing the roof, which could be the activity previously mentioned, in the area.

Let's hope it is more of a miracle rather than a mirage - a good road into the development will be fantastic after so many years.
Please me us informed of progress.

Hi Ken333
Thanks for the photo. I am still getting over the shock of seeing a digger considering the road hasn't been done for 9 years when I first saw it. Keep us all updated with photos on any progress. Maybe someone who speaks Spanish could ask what they are up to and when they plan to finish. Maybe the driver is lost :)

Carvajal Boulevard. The road today has seen some progress, although NO access notices have been placed on the road between the station and the under bridge .

Hi Ken and Irene
Thanks again for the photos. Looks like you could be taking a lot of them with the pace of progress. It's a week now since Ken put the digger photo up and from all I can see they have only put up a few barriers. Who is the main contractor " Speedy Gonzales ". My god they are slow. I suppose looking on the bright side at least it has started though could be another 5 years before they finish it :)

Great news ... thanks to Ken and Irene...
Let's hope the road will be finished soon, so our cars/bikes and feet will suffer no longer.
The spokes of our bikes are broken all time because of the bad condition..
This will be over soon I hope....
Kind regards,
Corrie

I expect it will be a proper road. Telefonica have been waiting for this development so that they can bring cables for phone and broadband into Don Juan. So conduits for telephone and lighting plus a pipes for a storm drain system will all have to be laid before they start the surface work.
It will probably take a while but personally I'd rather have a proper job.

Footpaths, Tarmaced Roads, Phone Lines , Broadband...I'm almost beside myself with excitement and anticipation...I wonder when the Official Opening will be so that I can clear my diary.......
By the way why is there a new roof going on the Railway Station - what was wrong with the old roof?

Good question Gericomm regarding the station roof. It's amazing how they have managed to find the money to change a roof that does not need changing yet for years have not been able to cough up the money to fix the road. Glad to see they got their priorities right.
