Hi Justin,
Could we please have the threads correct title back? This is the I want my House thread & it would be much easier if this & the SARC thread were labeled correctly, as we could post info regarding report release etc on them rather than setting up new threads each time.
Wishing you all the best & thanking you for providing a forum through which purcashers, no matter what their view point, have been able to communicate during a very stressful time.

Hi Roy and June
Did you read my post on "Update from my lawyer"? It gives the result of the vote, plus the fact that people can challenge the decision up until today. Hopefully we will hear more next week. Not long now until August though.....!
Best wishes.
Sue

Does everyone who is buying a property in Spain understand the Inheritance Tax implications?
My understanding is that those whom you choose to leave a property to, need to have approx 50% of the value of the property to pay in tax before they can receive their "gift"? ................ludicrous! Have i got this right?

Hi Kay
Unfortunately, being Spain, there is not a definitive answer! For a start, it depends on whether the recipient is resident in Spain or elsewhere. Also, whether the recipient is related to the deceased. Different regions have different tax rates too. Funeral costs and outstanding mortgage costs can be taken off the inheritance before taxation. We are currently looking at the different implications, as we have both been married before and have three children each from our first marriages! Now that we are married we need to make new (Spanish) wills and obviously IHT implications as residents in Murcia will need to be taken into consideration!
From what I have read (and I am far from being an expert!) the percentage is very unlikely to be as much as 50% unless the value of the property is very high (there is a sliding scale). Also, the inheritor will have 6 months to pay the tax, plus they can ask for another 6 months, though they will then have to pay interest.
I look forward to seeing what information Tony gets from his solicitor. If we have more information at a later date I will post it here.
Best wishes.
Sue

Dear All,
I wish to make it very clear that SARC is fully independant of HdT and is purely a purchaser group, set up by purchasers for purchasers. SARC do not blindly accept what HdT say & check out what we are told. For example the recent issue with the shepherd and HdT telling us that they had recieved the final water licence .We asked for a copy of it and for it to be made public, if this had not be done we would of been sceptical of the validity of what we had been told.
We will continue to liaise with HdT, who have our money , put forward our members view points and questions, engage in consultation with our members and do all that we can to get a postive outcome for all. We want those who want a property to get it, with compensation and those who want their money back to get it sooner rather than later.
The committee is meeting with HdT is the next few weeks and invite those of you who, for what ever reason have noy joined SARC, to table any (sensible, sorry that has to be mentioned) questions that they would like to be put forward at the meeting.
Wishing you all the best
Tony

Dear All,
The SARC committee had a long and constructive meeting with HdT/SJI. The update report isin the process of being written & checked prior to sending out to members and subsequently being placed on the SARC website. I will post on here to inform all when it has been loaded up.
Wishing you all the best

Is it good news? Has anything remarkable happened? Has Glen Miller turned up? Let me guess. They have told you not to worry. It is all going to be OK. There's no place like home. There's no place like home

Hi All,
I personally think it is rather crass for Briando , who never was a SADM purchaser and who has his money ,to make snide remarks at the expense of OUR COLLECTIVE PREDICAMENT. Not only are the remarks insulting to ALL SADM purchasers but he is daft enough to even put his own website details on his posting. Depsite that I suggest that we all ignore him.
Wishing you all the best

Hi Tony
I display my details because I have nothing to hide. I havnt had a penny back and the company you keep are the same ones that are screwing me and mine. Now I have cleared that up for you, stop getting personal and give me some good news. I prefer to hear that there is a bankruptcy in the offing. Any news on that?
