What you should be focusing on is migration if you can come up with a solution to the mass emigration from the EU ,you will stop the Brexit. In it's tracks.

You tell us that David Davis said we would pay for access to the single market. Then, in the same paragraph, you tell us what he did say, which is nothing of the sort.
In fact he was very clear, qualifying what he did say, in order that we should not construe it as 'single market' which was part of the question.
We postulated on this board long ago that the UK might have to pay residual payments to help secure tarrif free access into the future. This is not being in the single market. Nor is it anything new.

During his regular session facing MPs in the Commons, Mr Davis was asked a number of questions about the shape of the future Brexit deal, including one from Labour MP Wayne David, who said: "Will the government consider making any contribution in any shape or form for access to the single market?"
Mr Davis replied: "The major criterion here is that we get the best possible access for goods and services to the European market - and if that is included in what you are talking about, then of course we will consider it."
His comments prompted sterling to rise by 1% to $1.26 against the dollar. It went from 1.18 to 1.195 against the Euro. Whilst daydream b-leavers didn't like it the market certainly did Ted.

SHOCKING FOR BREXIT
The Liberal Democrats have caused a major upset in the Richmond Park by-election, overturning a 23,015 majority to oust ex-Tory MP Zac Goldsmith. Mr Goldsmith stood as an Independent after leaving the Conservative Party in protest at the government's decision to back a third Heathrow runway.
But Lib Dem Sarah Olney, who is also opposed to Heathrow expansion, fought the campaign on the issue of Brexit.
She polled 20,510 votes to Mr Goldsmith's 18,638. The remaining six candidates, including Labour's Christian Wolmar, all lost their £500 deposits as they did not receive a big enough share of the vote.

Not surprising given that the Richmond vote in the EU referendum was as follows
Richmond upon Thames: REMAIN75,396 LEAVE 33,410

Perripower1 the Lib Dems won the by election by going through the Democratic process and we have got to accept this that is Democracy. The majority of the population of the UK voted Out in the Referendum through the Democratic process and we have got to accept this. I don't have any problems with the Democratic process so why do so many people want to live in a Dictatorship .
And I did not make anything up .Boris Jonson clearly stated he is in favor of emigration ,but it needs to be controlled The Beno and the Dandy twisted his statement and said he was in favour of free movement yet another Lie from the INs.

Ms Olney said she now wanted Parliament to "override" the Brexit referendum.
Is this democracy?

So the good people of Richmond want to remain in the European Union. If a general election is called before 2020 the Lib Dems will fight on that one issue and could win the country. A general election vote on a remain platform would supersede and cancel the referendum.
It is clear if this swing to the Lib Dems was repeated across the nation from remain voters the Tories would lose their majority and be out of government.
Probably now a principle reason May will not risk calling an election before 2020. Her government would have to lose a no confidence vote in the Commons for it to happen.
The question now is will the government continue to ignore the large percentage of the population that wish to remain in the EU? Democracy is supposed to work for everyone not just they who support one issue.
If the government insists on using the referendum result as just cause they will cause a back lash in the nation from the 48% who want to remain. I suspect that percentage is now much higher as people have realised the full implications and impact for their future of Brexit and how they were lied to.

How can 20510 who voted for the Libdems out of 75396 who voted to Remain in Richmond (27%) be judged as a mandate to override the Brexit vote?

Read my post ads. I said if the result was repeated in the country in a general election. The government could fall if they continue to ignore the remain and don't negotiate for a soft Brexit. This by-election result indicates the depth of feeling in the country to keep close ties with the EU. The government must take note of that and negotiate a soft Brexit which would go some way to satisfy both sides.
Zac Goldsmith was a Brexiteer and his lifelong issue of Heathrow expansion was lost to opposition to Brexit.

The same way that the 37.44% of the electorate that voted to Daydream B-Leave is judged a mandate

Richmond by Election
The clue is in the title. This is the good people of Richmond choosing their representitive in Parliament. They were not re-running Brexit.
The Conservatives did not have a candidate so it cannot reflect on them (except in that they should have had one).
Zac Goldsmith has behaved like a petulent pratt. His behavour showed him unfit to represent Richmond.
What else could they have done? Again the media failed to spot the obvious.

How to stop Brexit.
The name of this game is changing minds. So there is absolutely no point crafting a campaign that is aimed at fundamentalist Eurosceptics who never wanted Britain to be part of the EU in the first place. Nor is there any point in focusing on racists and xenophobes. People who don’t like foreigners or people with coloured skin are not going to change their minds.
But that leaves a lot of people who voted for Brexit, in hundreds of thousands of cases, on the basis of their own experience. They were sold a false prospectus by the leave campaign; but they need a better one, which offers them hope, support, material improvements in their lives, and confidence. Theresa May gets this, though she is doomed to promote Brexit and not to stop it. Those who want to stop Brexit need to learn this lesson: the aim of any campaign must be to persuade these voters that there is a better way of getting the things they want than leaving the EU. Don’t berate, persuade. And get out of the bubble.

PMSL now, cloud cuckoo land Micky, you really are clutching at straws.
Have you considered the collapse of the Lib Dem vote in 2010 might be because they wanted to stay in Europe whilst DC was offering the electorate a referendum and UKIP polled a huge number of votes.
The signs were there in 2010, 2016 was just the great unwashed having their opportunity to have EVERY vote count.
PS I'm sure the government would love a soft Brexit, it is the EU intransigence that suggests we are not going to get it.

Eurosceptics
In many cases europhiles that have learnt from experience.
People who voted 'in' in millions in 1975 and 'out' in 2016.
You are right you will not convert them - they are the converted.
