Why would the UK economy not been doing well now? The UK is still a full member of the EU enjoying free trade with Europe and all the benefits EU membership brings.
Add to that the devaluation of Sterling and record low interests rates and it's easy to see the British economy is in a calm before the storm arrives. I have no doubt about that and have positioned my personal affairs for that expectation.
A clue to that is business investment is falling along with lending and consumers are cutting back. Property prices are also starting to fall. The pain will start its symptoms late in 2018 possibily earlier. It will take a decade to recover.
Brexiteers are in total denial about what is coming for the nation.

Good point about TB in 1983
Just shows how all politcians cahnge their tunes once they get into power or if it means votes and benefits them
The current lot are no different they wil agree a brexit deal that suits them not the rest of us and remember we have no say on the final deal good or bad. It will be good (liked) for some and bad (disliked) for others no mattter the vote
no matter the outcome the uK will stil be divided and even the individual camps will probably be further divided
As an example will the exiters be happy if the UK agrees to remain in the single market etc.
the govt are in a win win postion the people are in a lose lose position

No the exiters will not be happy to remain in the single market. The vote was to leave the eu, that is what we must do, no cherry picking, no a la carte menu, no if buts or maybes. If the eu wishes to trade with us fine, if not they will need to find new trade partners. Under their current way of doing things it could take them 5 years or even more.

Mickyfinn you said the UK will take 10 years to recover from the Berexit the UK recovered from the world wide recession immediately after the crash in fact we helped out the EU bloc with our useless Sterling , this is something that the EU have forgot .....10 years have passed since the crash why haven't the P.I.G .S including Spain still not recovered their economies are they not full members of the EU block .....The P.I.G.S have had the full benefit of being a member of the EU and yet show no sine of recovery a decade after the fact.

I have no idea how the rest of the EU will be able to trade with the UK after we leave because there will be no more EU after a few years, it's taken us, the UK, to have the balls to see that after all these years the EU as it stands now hasn't got a clue as to what is happening in front of it's eyes, it has got complacent as to what it thinks it can do and get away with, we have shown it that it can't.
The rest of the EU countries have waited for someone like us to make the first move, when we finally exit then the S-H-I Jolly old T will hit the fan and give them the biggest wake up call going.
They might have thought that this little insignificant Island was of no importance to them, well now the Lion has Roared.

This insignificant little island has an economy equivalent to 20 of the smaller EU nations, out of 28 that's a pretty sizeable loss of both income to the EU and as you say trade from the EU nations who heavily rely on us importing their goods.
No one ever did answer what the French would do with their Beaujolais Nouveau once the EU adds a 10% tariff.
Maybe the corrupt Rumania government officials will be a suitable client.
Couldnt agree more about the EU collapsing in on itself though.
Good time to leave Exeunt Left.

That's right some of the exiters won't be happy but they have no say if the govt decide the best deal is to remain in the single market
That's the mess created by this and some exiters want to remain in the single market
Some unity we have

Brexit means Brexit.
A large part of the remainer population chose to misinterprete that. So to be more succicnt:
Brexit means British-Exit.
ie leave, as in not be in anymore
Which Brexit do you not understand?

The part where the UK Government has said that Article 50 is revocable as in, if the UK don't like what is offered, the Government can change their minds and stay in the EU because:
1. Ref was not binding.
2. Government does not recognise the authority of Parliament unless courts force them to do so.
3. They can blame it all on the Exiteers.

Labour peer Lord Hain said he could not "in good conscience" vote to trigger Article 50 as it would damage Welsh jobs.
The former minister for Europe said he acknowledged the referendum result, but called Theresa May's plan "right wing".
Former Labour Welsh Secretary Lord Hain said the House of Commons would "triumph over the Lords, but we will win some important amendments
Another waster in the house of Lords. He was born in Niarobi of S African parents and lived originally in S Africa. As a S African he came to the UK to cause trouble and complain about Aparthied. If he had any political guts he would have remained in S. Africa and campaigned about aparthied there. Instead he teamed up with another socialist from N Zealand (Brian Gould - who thankfully went back to NZ) to promote the socialist cause here. I used to think at one time that we were somehow superior to the americans becuse you have to be borne in America to be President. I was foolish. People not born British should not come here to seek power, tell us what to do including continue to subvert our democracy in the undemocratic EU and live at the expense of the British Taxpayer. To me he is worse than the benefit cheats, at least they or their parents may have paid into the system.

We are lucky and blessed as a nation that there are people who stand up against evils like apartheid.

I suspect Lord Hain did not come to the UK to protest about the evils of apartheid...............and born in America to be Pesident? look whats happened, President Trump, and if the country allowed foreigners they could have had Arnold Schwarzenneger for President. Viva la revolution!

What part of Brexit will you be happy with and what will you do if you don't get what you think you voted for
You have no idea what the deal will be and you will have no say in whatever the govt agree
The same goes for every brexit voter all won't be happy whatever the outcome
perrypower
Many people and nations across the world stood against apartheid the UK govt at the time was NOT one off them sadly

Quote from a report from consultancy firm KPMG:
"Our research finds that companies are considering a number of measures to plan for this potentially radical change. For example, a third are considering relocating aspects of their plant or operations to another country in order to boost productivity or reduce costs, with China and India the most attractive destinations for relocation.
"There is also a slight but notable increase in consideration of moving elements of the supply chain away from the UK."
The report said that Brexit had become a "game-changer" for UK manufacturing with two thirds of firms believing the instability from Brexit would be bad for the economy generally.
The report also predicted rising prices for consumers, highlighting that firms will deal with increasing costs by passing increased prices onto the customer.

Any manufacturer will blame anything and everything on what ever to increase prices, nothing new with this as it's been going on for years, even before the EU.
What, or who do you blame for the manufactures making just about everything in smaller sizes and wrappers, like as in the snack bars and such, clothes also included....But the price never gets smaller.
As for the moving of business to China or India, that also is not a new statement or new happening.
