The Quebec referendum of 1995 was 49.42% out and 50 58% in.  Difference was 54,000 votes on a 93.52% turnout.  Can't get closer than that.  Both sides honoured the conclusion.  There has been no further referendum on the question since (20 years).  If the leaves win I believe it will be honoured. I will honour it.  I expect the same from the leavers if the remains win. Any suggestion that the loosing side needs to be appeased is not going to happen. This not a general election.  Nor is it a call for a general election.

Hugh

Good post but not sure what does this has to do with Brexit

It does show the UK can make many changes without interference from the EU even as a full member of the EU depsite what the exiters say about governing ourlseves etc.

Another exiter myth bustedsmiley

Hughjardon,

Yes, a comprehensive reply, but not too difficult to do a cut n paste job from the Social Shirker website and it sounds like you are a fully paid up member.

It's all very easy to criticise Cameron and all the rest of them, which too many like to do ad nauseam - but who'll do better?  Jeremy?  Well, Clarkson maybe.

Your reply only proves is that you make lots of statements which are purely for effect rather than contain any substance.  You previously said you were staying in Spain "under the radar" which conflicts with comment within your regurgitated War & Peace", but perhaps you were actually bragging about the size of your satellite dish, dearie. kiss

acer,

Hugh handles this forum with humour and treats it as the joke that it is, I was edited and warned that stating that Germany twice attempting to form a European super state was offensive, I was even deleted for posting a link to USA nationals travel statistics abroad.

Some can do as they wish,  when they wish and as many times as they wish, however some can't, simples. wink

Will a Brexit victory further depress an already depressed Spanish property market? If so this could be the ideal time for folk considering dipping their toes into the market to dive in and have a swim.

Perrypower1 you are wrong .This vote is crucial to the conservative party it's in their manifesto to reduce emigration to Under 100,000 per year ,and you still haven't answered my question what part of the UK do you come from .

Hugh,

Didn't bother reading your cut and paste.

Wasn't it a labour minister who left a note saying that there's no money left. With a prime minister who described an woman as a bigot for raising immigration as an issue. and said British Jobs for British Workers. And promised an end to boom and bust.

Whatever the tories have done is not helped by uncontrolled migration which has forced wages down and put pressure on the public purse, forced house prices beyond the reach of working people and turned our backs on the commonwealth.

Polls open 7am.

Weather sitting on the fence (variable across the UK).

Good luck if you are sitting up for the result.

If the lazy benefit scrounging brits got off their backsides and if the UK govt didn't give generous benfits to all migartion would not be an issue

Don't hera many complaints about the super rich foreigners buying up parts of London and forcing prices sky high

As for the commonwealth

Well this was born out of the British Empire where the Brits invaded them, killed, raped and tortured people, forced people into slavery, stole lands, called them heathens and many other derogatory names forced them to abandon many of their traditions and beliefs for the so called "british way of life" etc.

The UK does not own the commonwealth it is a voluntary club with little benefit to anyone and the UK probably owes them more than they owe the UK
